Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Announces Development Deal with Crisis Management Expert Judy Smith for New Mystery Movie "The Adjuster"

HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH CRISIS MANAGEMENT EXPERT JUDY SMITH FOR NEW MYSTERY MOVIE "THE ADJUSTER"

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - July 27, 2017 - Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, the premiere television destination for thrilling mysteries, announced a development deal with world-renowned strategist and crisis communications specialist Judy Smith. The new mystery movie, "The Adjuster," is loosely based off her real-life experiences and professional work. The announcement was made today as part of Crown Media Family Network's bi-annual TV Critics Association Summer Press Tour.

"Judy Smith is a brilliant visionary whose historic work has become legendary," said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. "We are thrilled to welcome her to the Hallmark family and we expect our viewers to be swept away by her unique, smart storytelling that people will rave about!"

Judy Smith is best known for her expertise in crisis management and has served as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies. Smith has consulted on a number of high profile cases and the series "Scandal" revolves around the life and professional work of a "fixer," where Smith also serves as co-executive producer.

"The Adjuster" centers on a burned-out ex-district attorney and single mom Sydney Polk, who moves with her two teenage sons to a small town seeking a simpler life. However, she ends up finding more drama than she anticipated while working on her weekly podcast "Problem Solved," where everyday people call in to share their own personal problems. Sydney was born to help people and turning anyone away isn't in her DNA but as her life gets more chaotic, can she be "The Adjuster" of her own life?
