GIFTED, THE (FOX) - Len Wiseman has signed on as an executive producer/in-house director of the series. He'll helm the show's second episode. (Deadline.com)
GYPSY (Netflix) - The streaming service has pulled the plug on the Naomi Watts-led psychological thriller after one season. (Deadline.com)
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (CBS) - Alison Bennett is the latest tapped to pen the long-proposed spin-off of the former CBS mainstay. The news marks the third stab at the project. Original creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas along with Emily Spivey spearheaded the pilot "How I Met Your Dad" in 2014 while Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger were behind the second go-round in 2016 with "How I Met Your Father," which stalled in the script stage internally at 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
LAST MAN ON EARTH, THE (FOX) - Chris Elliott has scored a recurring role on the new season as Glenn, "a castaway living on a deserted island." Additionally, Kristen Wiig's "socialite-turned-crazy-bunker-lady" Pamela will be back in at least three episodes. (EW.com)
LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Brooke Shields has scored a top secret recurring role on the upcoming season that "will shake up Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) world." (THR.com)
LAW & ORDER TRUE CRIME (NBC) - Rya Kihlstedt and Josh Stamberg are the latest to score roles in "The Menendez Murders." Kihlstedt will play Cindy Erdelyi, "an ex-cop who is Menendez lawyer Leslie Abramson's go-to investigator"; while Stamberg is on board as Robert Rand, "a nonthreatening reporter who has gained access to the Menendez home and forms a connection with the case." (THR.com)
MOSAIC (NBC, New!) - Writer Christine Lavaf and director Wes Ball have sold a new drama to the Peacock "set in a near-future metropolis and follows the interconnected lives of a diverse set of characters struggling to navigate their relationships in the face of emerging technologies." Oddball Entertainment's Joe Hartwick, Jr. will also executive produce for the Universal Television-based Chernin Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
RIVERDALE (The CW) - Graham Phillips has been tapped for a two-episode arc as Veronica's (Camila Mendes) ex, Nick St. Clair, "an old classmate of Veronica's from New York, and despite his parent-pleasing veneer, he is a wolf in sheep's clothing: a hard-partying Lothario with dark desires and an unchecked sense of privilege." (EW.com)
YELLOWSTONE (Paramount) - Jefferson White and Gretchen Mol are the latest additions to the Kevin Costner-led drama. White is set as Jimmy, "a professional thief who joins a band of wranglers working with John Dutton." Mol then will play Evelyn Dutton, "wife of John Dutton and mother to his children and who has a contentious relationship with daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly)." (Deadline.com)
