CLOSURE (NBC, New!) - Josh Berman ("Drop Dead Diva") has booked a put pilot commitment from the Peacock for a new drama based on the inspiring story of Serena Nunn, who at 19 was "sentenced to 15 years for conspiracy to distribute drugs, despite her being a star student and her negligible role in the crime as the girlfriend of a drug dealer." Nunn, whose sentence was commuted after 11 years, went on to earn college and law school degrees, ultimately becoming a lawyer following a pardon by President Obama last year. Osprey Productions' Berman and Chris King will executive produce alongside Get Lifted Film Co. principals John Legend, Mike Jackson and Thais Stiklorius for Sony Pictures Television. Nunn and Sam Sheldon, who filed a petition for a presidential commutation on her behalf, are executive consultants. (Deadline.com)
