MAGNUM, P.I. (CBS, New!) - Eric Guggenheim and Peter M. Lenkov ("Hawaii Five-0") have scored a pilot production commitment from the Eye for a reboot of the famed 1980-1988 drama, about Thomas Magnum, "a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator." Said effort will also feature fellow vets Theodore "TC" Calvin, Orville "Rick" Wright and a gender flipped Juliet Higgins. Davis Entertainment's John Davis and John Fox will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios and Universal Television. In 2001, Shane McGuinty, a new detective in the NYC Missing Persons division, and her partner, Dominic, are drawn closer together when they embark on their first (and most haunting) case on the worst day of the year: 9/11. In present day, we follow as Shane and Dominic (now ex-partners and ex-lovers) are forced together again when new evidence threatens to blow both their unsolved 2001 case, and their entire squad, wide open." 20th Century Fox Television-based 6th & Idaho is behind the hour, which has a penalty attached.
