ARROW (The CW) - Charlotte Ross has booked a return trip to the series as Felicity Smoak's mother Donna this season. (TVLine.com)
BESTSELLER (The CW, New!) - Author Abby McDonald has sold a potential drama to the netlet based on her real-life experiences as "a risk-averse aspiring author who self-publishes an erotic novel under a pen name. When it becomes a surprise bestseller, it complicates her work life and personal relationships, and inspires her to act more boldly as she navigates her new double life." The Kennedy/Marshall Company's Frank Marshall and Robert Zotnowski and Exile Entertainment's Gary Ungar will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
EVER AFTER PART, THE (FOX) - John Ross Bowie and Kevin Sussman's 2011 multi-camera comedy - in which a "couple, faced with the difficulties of raising their daughter in a hip, on the rise neighborhood, must swallow their pride and move in with the husband's flamboyant mother and her manservant" - is being redeveloped by the network alongside Peter Tolan. Principato Young Entertainment's Peter Principato and Joel ZaZadak will also executive produce for Sony Pictures Television and the newly added 20th Century Fox Television. Sussman's manager Jill McGrath will also receive a producing credit. (Deadline.com)
GET SHORTY (Epix) - Creator Davey Holmes has an overall deal with producer MGM Television. The pact covers his duties on the series as well as any future development. First up: "Fear & Loathing," an officially authorized television series based on the life Hunter S. Thompson, with Bob Nelson attached to pen the script. (Deadline.com)
LIFE AFTER (NBC, New!) - Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder ("Ringer") has set up a potential drama at the Peacock about "six friends who, each winter, spring, summer and fall, bond and retreat together from their lives and careers, which are forever linked by a life-changing event from their past." Universal Television is behind the hour with Acoustic Productions' Danielle Claman Gelber also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
MADAM SECRETARY (CBS) - Co-star Bebe Neuwirth has opted to exit the series after three plus seasons. (@BebeNeuwirth)
MS. PAT (FOX) - The Patricia Williams-led comedy is being redeveloped by the network and 20th Century Fox Television. Ali LeRoi ("Survivor's Remorse") is spearheading the new incarnation, replacing original writer Alyson Fouse. Lee Daniels's Lee Daniels Entertainment and Brian Grazer's Imagine Television remain attached to the half-hour. Separately, LeRoi has inked a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios. NEED TO KNOW (CBS, New!) - Scott Weinger and Zach Ayers have set up a multi-camera comedy at the Eye billed as "a workplace ensemble set in the top secret training video department at the Central Intelligence Agency." Weinger and Wildline Entertainment's Simon Helberg and Jocelyn Towne will executive produce the project, which is based on co-executive producer Ayers's real-life experience, for Warner Bros. SUPER CHALLENGED HEROES (ABC, New!) - Larry Wilmore and Bassem Youssef are set to team for a new comedy at the Alphabet about the Sharif family, "an ordinary Middle Eastern American family with two superhero parents at a time when it's illegal to be a superhero, so they are forced to save the world in secret." The project is set up at the former's ABC Studios-based Wilmore Films. (Deadline.com)
UNREAL (Lifetime) - François Arnaud, Natalie Hall, Meagan Holder, Alejandro Muñoz, Meghan Heffern, Christopher Russell and Alli Chung are all bound for season four of the series: Arnaud is Tommy, "a charming and ambitious game producer who has been plucked out of basic cable and given a shot at the big leagues"; with Hall as Candi, "a brash, funny single mom who also happens to be a Miami stripper"; Holder as Noelle, "an image-conscious commercial real estate agent who has put a lot of effort into securing her spot as a reality TV darling"; Muñoz as Rodrigo, "a cocky, international soccer star and former suitor who will have all the girls vying for his affection"; Heffern as Sofia, "a formerly a sweet kindergarten teacher who returns to Everlasting determined to change her persona into the "Bad Girl" that audiences love to hate"; Russell as Jack, "a former Everlasting runner-up, and then suitor, who is prone to picking the wrong girl"; and Chung as Skye, "a party girl who has left all her inhibitions at the door and who is just here for a good time." UNTITLED AMBER RUFFIN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Amber Ruffin ("Late Night with Seth Meyers") has booked a new comedy at the Peacock which "explores what happens when a woman who moves abroad to escape her overbearing family and the responsibility of the family business returns home with her Dutch boyfriend. He is a renaissance man whose blunt, outsider perspective might be exactly what Amber, her family and their business needs." Universal Television is behind the half-hour, which Ruffin and Michael Starrbury will co-write based on her life. Starrbury, Broadway Video's Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer and Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions' Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker are executive producing with Ruffin as a co-executive producer. UNTITLED ANGELA FLOURNOY PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Author Angela Flournoy has sold a new drama to the pay channel "set in Los Angeles in the early and turbulent 1990s, the project will center on an African-American family dealing with the events of the time. Bridging those later Reagan Era and early Clinton years, the drama will center on the marriage of Sheryl and Jackson, with the former an envelope bounds-pushing real estate agent and the latter a conflicted LAPD anti-gang task force recruit. The potential series will also feature the couples' teen daughter and son, Ebony and Les." Issa Rae ("Insecure") is also on board to executive produce, as are Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry at 3 Arts Entertainment and Montrel McKay at Apex Content Ventures. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED KIM ROSENSTOCK PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Kim Rosenstock ("New Girl") has scored a put pilot commitment from the Peacock for a new comedy about "a newly single mother who is forced to rely on the last people she wants help from... her family." Paper Kite Productions' Amy Poehler and 3 Arts Entertainment's Dave Becky will also executive produce for Universal Television with Kim Lessing as a producer. (Deadline.com)
