TRAVEL CHANNEL GREENLIGHTS 'LEGENDARY LOCATIONS' WITH ADVENTURER AND EXPLORER JOSH GATES
NEW YORK (December 7, 2017) - Travel Channel has greenlit production on a new series starring adventurer and "Expedition Unknown" host Josh Gates. "Legendary Locations" will chronicle the epic tales and secrets of the most storied places on earth. The 13-episode order, set to premiere in 2018, will showcase breathtaking destinations around the globe as Gates explores the ancient legends and folklore that made them famous.
"'Expedition Unknown' has been a strong performer for Travel Channel, delivering consistent year-over-year ratings growth since its premiere season, and 'Josh Gates' Destination Truth' has become Friday night appointment viewing," said Courtney White, senior vice president, programming, Travel Channel, Food Network and Cooking Channel. "Our viewers are clear that they want even more of Josh's proven passion for adventure, history and exploration. This full season order of `Legendary Locations' delivers that in a thrilling new format."
