BATTLEGROUND (Hulu) - The streaming service's first original scripted series, which explored the behind-the-scenes chaos of an unruly band of campaign workers and volunteers who leave behind ordinary lives for the madhouse, is being revived as a British podcast from series creator J.D. Walsh (click here). The new season will "follow Davis (Jay Hayden) as he tries to navigate a Republican through the New Hampshire primaries." Marc Webb and Hagai Shaham also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
HOMELAND (Showtime) - Costa Ronin will recur on the upcoming season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com)
LUCIFER (FOX) - Jillian Rose Reed will drop by the series later this season as Cece, "the quirky, bubbly and exceptionally-devoted personal assistant of a massive pop star - who also happens to be her best friend whose orbit she has lived in for years." (TVLine.com)
UNTITLED BARRIS & BEAN PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Kenya Barris ("Black-ish") and Julie Bean ("Grown-ish") are set to team with Alec Baldwin for a multi-camera comedy about "a stuck-in-his-ways, opinionated, fading TV star who moves in with his progressive daughter, her girlfriend and the child they are raising together." The project, co-created by said trio and to be written by Barris and Bean, is being developed as a possible starring vehicle for Baldwin. Barris's ABC Studios-based Khalabo Ink Society is behind the half-hour, which has a straight-to-series order. (Deadline.com)
