AFFAIR, THE (Showtime) - Phoebe Tonkin and Amy Irving will both visit the new season as Daphne, "Nan's protégé, who guides Cole through his quest for answers"; and Nan Perino, "a sculptress from Morro Bay, Calif., with a mysterious connection to Cole's father," respectively. (TVLine.com)
BAD SEED, THE (Lifetime) - Rob Lowe is set to direct and star in the proposed remake of William March's novel-turned-film about "a father who seems to have everything under control. But when a terrible tragedy takes place at his daughter Emma's school, he is forced to question everything he thought he knew about his beloved girl. He slowly begins to question if Emma's exemplary behavior is just a facade and whether she played a role in the horrific incident. When more strange things begin to happen, he's faced with keeping a terrible secret to protect Emma, but ultimately must stop her from striking again." Lowe will work from a script by Barbara Marshall with The Wolper Organization's Mark Wolper and Elizabeth Stephen executive producing. (Deadline.com)
CARNIVAL ROW (Amazon) - Andrew Gower and Jamie Harris have both scored recurring roles on the fantasy drama as Ezra Spurnrose, "the scion of one of the most prominent families in the Burgue"; and Desk Sergeant Dombey, "a tough police officer in the neo Victorian city who strongly believes in the old rule of life and resents the growing influx of foreign fairies and pix." (Deadline.com)
IT CROWD, THE (NBC, New!) - The Peacock is taking a third swing at importing Graham Linehan's U.K. series, a workplace comedy which revolved around "two computer geeks and their luddite boss." Linehan himself is penning the project, succeeding David Guarascio & Moses Port and Joe Port & Joe Wiseman from 2007 and Garrett Donovan & Neil Goldman from 2014. Universal Television is behind the half-hour with Patrick Daly and Jon Rolph also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
ONE DAY SHE'LL DARKEN (TNT) - Vic Mahoney has been tapped to direct episodes three and four of the upcoming limited series. (Variety.com)
SHATTERED GLASS (NBC, New!) - Kat Blasband Page has sold a new drama to the Peacock "set in the world of Wall Street in which a trio of modern women come together to shatter their respective glass ceilings, taking no prisoners along the way." Warner Bros. Television is behind the project with LuckyChap Entertainment's Margot Robbie and Brett Hedblom executive producing alongside showrunner Patti Carr with Page as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
SPACED OUT (CBS, New!) - Bill Lawrence has set up a multi-camera take on the single-camera comedy pilot, which was filmed for NBC last season. Writer Adam Sztykiel and director Ruben Fleischer were behind the original incarnation, which was executive produced by Lawrence and Jeff Ingold via their Warner Bros. Television-based Doozer Productions. Lawrence will pen the CBS version, which remains an "ensemble comedy is set in the world of commercial space travel." (Deadline.com)
TRADE, THE (Showtime) - Morgan Spurlock has been dropped as an executive producer of the docu-series following his "public confession of sexual misconduct earlier this week." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MOORE, NEDIVI & WOLPERT PROJECT (Apple, New!) - Ronald D. Moore is set to team with Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi for a new series which "explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended." Said effort comes from Moore's Sony Pictures Television-based Tall Ship Productions with the company's Maril Davis also executive producing. No other details were given about the project, which has a straight-to-series order. (Deadline.com)
WATERGATE (Netflix, New!) - Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) is spearheading an eight-part limited series at the streaming service in which each episode "would focus on an individual surrounding the 1970s scandal such as former Attorney General John Mitchell and Richard Nixon counsel John Ehrlichman." Sonar Entertainment is behind the project with Smokehouse Pictures' George Clooney and Grant Heslov likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
WHO RUN THE WORLD? (TNT) - Morgan Spurlock has likewise been nixed from the proposed documentary series. "In light of recent revelations, Pretty Matches and Refinery29 are severing ties with Morgan Spurlock," the two companies said in a statement. "We stand in solidarity with the victims. We are suspending production on Who Rules the World (working title) to reevaluate the best path forward for the project, and are more determined than ever to share women's stories through this series." (Deadline.com)
Z NATION (Syfy) - The cable channel has quietly renewed the series for a fifth season. (@DavidMLatt)
