BRIGHT FUTURES (NBC) - Emily Ratajkowski, Shameik Moore, Calum Worthy, Jimmy Tatro and Lilly Singh have booked the principal roles on the single-camera comedy pilot, about a group of friends who are stumbling through the transition from the clueless, immature 20-somethings they are now, to the successful professionals they have the potential to be. Ratajkowski will play Sarah, "a girl-next-door type but also with a behind-the-ear tattoo"; with Moore as Aaron, who "works as a lowly personal injury attorney [after] a drinking blowout on the night he passed the bar put a halt to any grandiose ideas"; Worthy as Danny, "a gung-ho yet ultra-neurotic USC film school grad and a wannabe screenwriter who's just landed his first job working for Hollywood's hottest up-and-coming writer"; Singh as Sid, "a recent med school graduate and who became a doctor mostly so people would call her a doctor"; and Tatro as Berger, who's "on the surface he's the hater of the crew, but deep down he's incredibly loyal and would be the first one to take a bat to someone for any one of his friends." Additionally, Lisa Kudrow will serve as narrator on the project. (Deadline.com)
DIETLAND (AMC) - Campbell Scott, Alanna Ubach, Kelly Hu, Marc Blucas, Ami Sheth and Jen Ponton are all set to recur on the Julianna Margulies/Joy Nash-led drama, about Plum Kettle (Nash), ghost-writer for the editor of one of New York's hottest fashion magazines, as she struggles with self-image and sets out on a wildly complicated road to self-acceptance. Scott is on board as Stanley Austen, "a one-time industry titan whose influence and clout as the head of the Austen Media empire is threatened by a group of anonymous female terrorists." Ubach then is Marlowe Buchanan, "a fierce feminist activist and earth mother, she is one of Verena Baptist's acolytes, and the author of Bangability Theory, a book about the sexualization of women." Hu is Abra Austen, Stanley's wife; with Blucas as Bobby, "a New York City cop who is also Dominic's ex-partner and friend"; Sheth as Sana, "an artist and acolyte of Verena Baptist (Robin Weigert)"; and Ponton as Rubi, "a resident at Calliope House." (Deadline.com)
HISTORY OF THEM (CBS) - Miranda Cosgrove will lend her voice to the pilot, a multi-cultural romantic comedy about how two friends - Luna (Ana Villafañe) and Adam (Brett Dier) - fell in love, narrated by their future daughter, using the couple's social media from present-day as a guide. She'll play said daughter, serving as the project's narrator. (Deadline.com)
HOMECOMING (Amazon) - Sissy Spacek is slated to recur in the upcoming Julia Roberts-led series, a psychological thriller that centers on a caseworker at a secret government facility (Roberts) and a soldier (Stephan James) eager to rejoin civilian life. She'll play Ellen Bergman, the mother of Roberts's character. (Deadline.com)
PURGE, THE (USA/Syfy) - Amanda Warren and Colin Woodell have both been cast in the small screen take on the film franchise. She'll play Jane: "A dedicated and hardworking finance professional who is convinced that she's hit an insurmountable glass ceiling at her firm, so she hires a Purge-assassin." Woodell then will portray Rick: "After a lifetime of bootstrapping, he finally is climbing the social ladder. But currying favor with the pro-Purge elite presents unexpected challenges to his marriage, as he and his wife must agree on what moral price they'll pay to achieve the American dream." (Deadline.com)
SHOOTER (USA) - Raymond J. Barry will recur on the show's third season as August Russo: "Formerly a member of Earl Swagger's unit in Vietnam, August now uses the skills he developed in wartime to train operatives at a secret facility." (Deadline.com)
