8 FIGHTS: THE LIFE OF MUHAMMAD ALI (CBSAA, New!) - Revelations Entertainment and CBS TV Studios are developing a limited series based on Jonathan Eig's recently published biography at the streaming service. Dan Kay is penning the script to the project, which would "chronicle eight distinct moments in the life of Ali, with each episode framed by one fight from his boxing career. The focus will be on the internal fight - the drama outside the ring - which will explore the struggle going on in the heart and mind of one of the most consequential and controversial figures of the 20th century." Morgan Freeman, Lori McCreary and Beth Miyares also serve as executive producers with Erica Shelton as a consulting producer. (Deadline.com)
ARROW (The CW) - Outgoing co-showrunner Wendy Mericle has signed a multi-year overall deal with ABC Studios. There she'll develop new series projects on an exclusive basis. (Deadline.com)
ASH VS. EVIL DEAD (Starz) - Bruce Campbell, who plays the titular character, took to social media to confirm the series will not return for a fourth season. (@LHissrich)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Geena Davis has booked a return trip to the veteran drama where she'll reprise her role of Nicole Herman on the series' May 10 episode. (Deadline.com)
OUR FAMILY (A.K.A. OUR PEOPLE) (FOX) - Vali Chandrasekaran has signed a new overall deal with producer 20th Century Fox TV. "We love Vali at this company," said Jonnie Davis. "Aside from being wildly funny, there's an intelligence and a warmth to his writing that is incredibly special. He's been a fantastic developer as a well as an MVP on the 'Modern Family' staff and we're grateful he's chosen this studio as his exclusive home." Chandrasekaran joins a roster at the studio that includes Abraham Higginbotham, Sanaa Hamri, Tim Minear, Kurt Sutter, Rich Appel and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel.
WITCHER, THE (Netflix) - Lauren S. Hissrich took to Twitter to confirm the series is a go for eight episodes, due in 2020. (@LHissrich)
