FAMILIES TURN THEIR HOMES' HIDDEN TREASURES INTO BIG BUCKS IN NEW HGTV SPECIAL "EVERYTHING BUT THE HOUSE"
New York [May 16, 2018] Auction experts will scour homes to help families uncover the true value of their belongings in a new HGTV special, Everything but the House. Premiering on Sunday, May 20, at 10 a.m. ET/PT, the special will follow these treasure hunters as they appraise fascinating items, such as dusty artwork, vintage clothing and antique pieces of décor, and then sell them at auction in hopes of drawing a hefty profit. Lara Spencer, Good Morning America contributor and the creator, executive producer and host of the Emmy(R)-award winning competition series Flea Market Flip on HGTV and Great American Country, serves as executive producer and narrator of the special.
"I grew up going to estate sales and hunting for that perfect find, so this show is very near and dear to my heart," said Lara. "Scouring estate sales is such a unique experience, everything has a special story that transforms an object into a timeless treasure. I love the idea of helping families navigate the process of appraising and auctioning special pieces so they can start over or realize a dream."
During the special, sisters Val and Dina call on the Everything but the House team to help them settle their late aunt's estate. After the auction experts identify the items of value - many of which were purchased during the aunt's extensive world travels - the ladies will anxiously await the news of the total earnings from the sale of the items.
