Paramount Network Announces Full Series Order for "Emily in Paris" from Hitmaker Darren Star

Joins New Dramedy Night Featuring "First Wives Club" from Tracy Oliver And Star's Signature Series "Younger"

Los Angeles, September 05, 2018 - The new Paramount Network today announced a full series order for "Emily in Paris" (working title) from Darren Star. The 10 episode, half-hour series will bookend a new Thursday dramedy night that launches in January with "First Wives Club," from Tracy Oliver ("Girls Trip"), followed by Star's hit-series "Younger," that officially moves to Paramount Network for season six in the spring, followed by "Emily in Paris" in the summer.

Known for capturing the zeitgeist with series centered in New York ("Sex and the City," "Younger) and Los Angeles ("Beverly Hills 90210," "Melrose Place"), Star heads to the city of lights in this dramedy centered on Emily, a driven twenty-something American woman from the Midwest, who moves to Paris for an unexpected job opportunity, tasked with bringing an American point of view to a venerable French marketing firm. Cultures clash as she adjusts to the challenges of life in a foreign city, while juggling her career, new friendships and love life. Production will begin early next year in Paris. "Emily in Paris" is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star, with Tony Hernandez of JAX Media executive producing for Paramount Network.

"Younger" heads to Paramount Network having just logged its highest-rated season to date among P 18-49 (L+SD). The series stars two-time Tony(R) winner Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann, Molly Bernard and Charles Michael Davis, and follows Liza (Sutton Foster), a talented and aspiring editor in the highly competitive world of publishing. As Liza's personal and professional lives have become intertwined, she has juggled the complications and faced the consequences of the lie she created about her age to land her dream job. The series' passionate fan base has helped the series expand off the TV screen to include a weekly podcast, a Facebook Live half-hour weekly series entitled "Getting Younger," and the launch of a book from Simon and Schuster entitled "Marriage Vacation." "Younger" is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star, with Tony Hernandez of JAX Media executive producing for Paramount Network. Dottie Zicklin and Eric Zicklin also serve as executive producers and writers on the series.

Based on the popular 1996 film from Paramount Pictures, "First Wives Club" from Paramount Television is a half-hour comedy that follows three women, Ari, Bree (Michelle Buteau) and Hazel (Jill Scott) who band together after their marriages fall apart, and who find strength in their sisterhood- and of course a little revenge. Tracy Oliver ("Girls Trip") will write the series and executive produce along with Karen Rosenfelt ("Twilight" saga and "The Devil Wears Prada") and Oscar(R), Emmy(R), Grammy(R) and Tony(R) award-winning producer, Scott Rudin, who produced the original movie. Tony Hernandez of JAX Media will also serve as Executive Producer.
