"AN EMMY FOR MEGAN" TO AIR ON IFC DESPITE STUNNING UPSET
NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES AND THE WORLD WIDE WEB - September 10, 2018 - IFC announced today it would continue with its plans to counterprogram the Primetime Emmy(R) Awards next Monday, September 17, with the broadcast premiere of An Emmy for Megan, despite multi-hyphenate star Megan Amram's Emmy and EGOT dreams being dashed in all categories at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday.
Ms. Amram has asked the public for her privacy at this time, but in a weepy message begged her fans to "Please tune in to watch the biggest snub in history and yes I'm including political races of the past two years." Off the record, she has hinted at a revenge theme for next year's entry.
IFC's General Manager Blake Callaway added, "The academy was surely hacked, so please watch and enjoy under protest."
An Emmy for Megan will air on IFC Monday, September 17 at 11PM. Watch and share an all-new promo for An Emmy for Megan here:
In April, the television writer and comedienne barely made the Emmy submission deadline with the release of her six-episode comedic web series An Emmy for Megan, in which Amram meets all of the minimum requirements to qualify for an Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series nomination. When the nominations were announced, Amram actually received two nominations, one for her brave and tumultuous performance, and also a second nomination as a producer in the Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series category. Despite wearing really nice shoes to the ceremony, she lost both.
