CONNERS, THE (ABC) - Rene Rosado is bound for the series in a recurring role as Emilio, "kind, sweet and cute, he's a busser at Casita Bonita restaurant. Though he may have some trouble communicating in English, when he speaks his first language, Spanish, he is straightforward, earnest and determined." (Deadline.com)
EMPIRE (FOX) - Scotty Tovar has booked a recurring role on the veteran drama as Carlito, "a young rap star on the rise, who believes he's the savior of hip-hop and acts as such." (Deadline.com)
HALFWAY THERE (CBS, New!) - Comedian Iliza Shlesinger is attached to star in a multi-camera comedy at the Eye about "a comic (Shlesinger) who prides herself on guiding women in her act. She is forced to put that to practical use when her half-sister moves in with her." Shlesinger will also co-write the half-hour, which has a put pilot commitment, alongside Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Plummer-Kreamer. Avalon Television's Kara Baker and David Martin will likewise executive produce for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
HOME ECONOMICS (FOX, New!) - Michael Colton and John Aboud have sold a single-camera comedy to the network about "three adult siblings: one in the 1 percent, one middle-class, and one barely holding on." The Tannenbaum Company's Kim and Eric Tannenbaum also serve as executive producers on the Lionsgate Television-based project, which has a penalty attached, with Jason Wang as a co-executive producer. INSIDE COMEDY (Showtime) - Steve Carell and David Steinberg are reportedly looking to revive the documentary series, which ran for four seasons on Showtime. (Deadline.com)
POWER (Starz) - Creator Courtney Kemp has reportedly signed a massive three-year overall deal with the pay channel's parent company Lionsgate. The pact covers her duties on Starz's flagship drama as well as calls for her to develop new series projects via her End of Episode banner, including potential spin-offs. (Deadline.com)
ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (The CW) - Claudia Black will guest on the reboot series as Max and Isobel's adoptive mother Ann Evans: "Polished and warm-hearted, Ann blames herself for not being able to connect with her children. Granted, she doesn't realize that Max and Isobel and have been keep a pretty massive secret from her all their lives." (TVLine.com)
UNTITLED ANISTON & WITHERSPOON PROJECT (Apple) - Billy Crudup and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are slated to join Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell in the morning show drama series. Crudup will play Cory Ellison, "the forward-thinking president of the news division at the network"; while Mbatha-Raw plays Hannah Shoenfeld, "the whip-smart and charming head booker of talent." UNTITLED STEVE KOREN PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Steve Koren has booked a potential multi-camera comedy at the network which "centers around what happens when two people who have spent years creating a beautiful harmonious happy relationship decide to destroy it all by adding a baby." 3 Arts Entertainment's Will Rowbotham and Greg Walter will also executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television.
