BASTARDS (Apple, New!) - Richard Gere is on track to star in a domestic take on the Israeli series "Nevelot," about two elderly Vietnam vets in contemporary Miami, whose resentment of today's entitled youth causes a small act of self-defense to snowball into something much bigger. Howard Gordon and Warren Leight are penning the eight-episode series with Gere, Dror Sabo, Lee Yardeni, Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Rachel Kaplan, Peter Traugott, Yoram Mokady and Mirit Toovi likewise executive producing for Fox 21 Television Studios, Teakwood Lane and Keshet Studios. HBO and Sony Pictures Television previously took a stab at importing the series in 2015 with writer Branden Jacobs Jenkins and director Alan Poul. (Deadline.com)
ENEMY WITHIN, THE (NBC) - Coral Peña is set for a recurring role on the midseason drama as Anna Cruz, "an ambitious CIA analyst enlisted by FBI Special Agent, Will Keaton (Morris Chestnut) to assist in the hunt for a former Russian SVR agent turned rogue operative who's responsible for the deaths of her fellow CIA officers. Cruz's arrival tests the limits of the unprecedented partnership between Keaton and former CIA Deputy Director turned traitor, Erica Shepherd (Jennifer Carpenter)." (Deadline.com)
GAMES DIVAS PLAY (BET) - Lauren London, Parker McKenna Posey and Karen Obilom are the first to be cast in the upcoming drama, based on the popular book by Angela Burt-Murray which takes viewers inside the high-stakes world of professional sports where everyone plays to win. With an ensemble cast of dynamic characters including an ambitious reporter, a millionaire basketball player, a desperate housewife, a scandalous groupie, and a murderous stalker, the series follows three women Nia Bullock (Obilom), Vanessa King (London) and Laila James (Posey) and the men in their lives. In a ruthless battle for success, these women's passions and motivations are seldom altruistic, but their life choices and drive will determine what it really takes to stay on top. Additionally, Kim Newton has been named co-showrunner and executive producer alongside creator Vanessa Middleton. Production is underway in Los Angeles (Deadline.com)
LIMETOWN (Facebook Watch) - Stanley Tucci, Marlee Matlin, Kelly Jenrette, John Beasley and Louis Ferreira have all been cast in the Jessica Biel-led series, about Lia Haddock (Biel), "a journalist for American Public Radio (APR), as she unravels the mystery behind the disappearance of over 300 people at a neuroscience research facility in Tennessee." Tucci reportedly plays Lia's uncle however no other character specifics were given. Production began in Vancouver on Wednesday. (Deadline.com)
NIGHT GALLERY (Syfy, New!) - Jeff Davis is looking to re-imagine Rod Serling's 1969-73 anthology series at the cable channel: "Featuring dark and twisted morality tales paired with Serling's specific brand of irony, 'Night Gallery; will explore and exploit every modern nightmare imaginable, mining our fears of the dangers of social media." David Janollari Entertainment's David Janollari will also executive produce for Universal Television and Universal Cable Productions. (Deadline.com)

WRONG MANS, THE (Showtime) - Annie Chang is set to join Ben Schwartz and Jillian Bell in the pilot, an action-comedy about two ordinary office workers who have their menial existence turned upside-down by a chance phone call and a case of mistaken identity: "If you are not here by 5 o'clock, we will kill your wife." Chang plays Katie, "Josh's hard-working, driven boss and ex-girlfriend, who broke up with him when she got fed up with his passiveness and lack of ambition." (Deadline.com)
