CONWAY (NBC, New!) - Jonny Umansky has booked a new drama at the Peacock about St. Louis detective Cal Conway, "who finds his world turned upside down when he wakes up from a coma with exceptional cognitive abilities. Returning to the force, he sets out to solve the city's most complex cases but the discovery of a lethal side effect makes Cal wonder whether his new abilities are more of a blessing or a curse." One Race Television's Vin Diesel and Shana C. Waterman will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
GORILLA AND THE BIRD (HBO, New!) - Zack McDermott's book, subtitled "A Memoir of Madness and a Mother's Love," is being developed as a limited series at the pay channel. Writer Bryan Sipe and director Jean-Marc Vallée are spearheading the project, which "follows Zack (the Gorilla) as he fights to regain his sanity after a devastating psychotic break, turning to the only person who didn't give up on him - his mother (The Bird). Once a highly successful public defender for The Legal Aid Society of New York, Zach's sudden illness takes him on a harrowing journey of delusions and antisocial behavior, leading to his eventual arrest and commitment to Bellevue Hospital." Free Association's Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan; crazyrose's Nathan Ross; and Big Beach's Marc Turtletaub, Peter Saraf and Robin Schwartz also serve as executive producers with McDermott receiving a co-executive producer credit. POWER (Starz) - Pedro Jimenez, a longtime production assistant of the series, died following an accident on set earlier today. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our 'Power' family," the network said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez' family as we work to fully understand what has happened." (Deadline.com)
RICHES TO RAGS (CBS, New!) - Jaime Camil is attached to star in a multi-camera comedy at the Eye about "when an outrageously wealthy trust fund baby is cut off by his father, he and his wife move into her sister's Reseda condo where they delight in the "charms" of the working class but mourn the loss of being the 1% of the 1%." Alex Herschlag is penning the CBS Television Studios-based project and executive producing alongside ECABA's Camil; Sutton St. Productions' Jennie Snyder Urman and Joanna Klein; and Propagate's Ben Silverman. STRANGE TIMES (TBS, New!) - Former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge's graphic novel - about "five dirty teenage skateboarders who solve paranormal mysteries while being chased by Deep State government agents" - is being developed into an animated series at the cable channel. Aaron Karo is penning the project with The Cartel's Stan Spry and Jeff Holland and Strike Entertainment's Russell Binder likewise executive producing alongside DeLonge. (Variety.com)

UNTITLED BLAKE MCCORMICK PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Blake McCormick has set up a single-camera comedy at the Peacock about "a meek and modest man from Los Angeles who travels to remote, small-town Alaska to claim a mysterious inheritance after the death of his estranged uncle." 20th Century Fox Television is producing. WILL & GRACE (NBC) - Samira Wiley has been tapped for a three-episode arc as Nikki, "a cool and confident woman working in the same building as Karen Walker (Megan Mullally). When the pair get snowed in at the office, Nikki gets the newly divorced Karen to open up about her love life." (THR.com)
YOU'RE KILLING ME (CBSAA, New!) - Jennie Snyder Urman and David Rosenthal are set to team for a potential drama at the streaming service about "Gracie who thought she was cursed with an overbearing mother. But when her mom dies unexpectedly and haunts Gracie for real, Gracie's worst nightmare becomes her mom's dream come true." CBS Television Studios is behind the hour with I Can and I Will Productions' Gina Rodriguez and Emily Gipson as well as Sutton St. Productions' Joanna Klein also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
