COBRA KAI (YouTube) - Creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg have signed a three-year overall deal with producer Sony Pictures Television. The pact calls for them to continue on the series as well as develop new series projects via their newly formed Counterbalance Entertainment banner. (Deadline.com)
CONNERS, THE (ABC) - Executive producers Sara Gilbert and Tom Werner have teamed up to launch a production company, sara + tom. (Deadline.com)
GOOD PEOPLE (Amazon) - Greg Kinnear is set to star opposite Lisa Kudrow in the half-hour comedy pilot as Dr. Paul Keating, "the incredibly charismatic and charming philosophy professor at Sacramento University. He's Indiana Jones-meets-Joan Didion. He causes problems for Lynn Steele (Kudrow) and Hazel Miller (Whitney Cummings) because of his unorthodox methods of teaching and refusal to acquiesce to "PC" rules." (Deadline.com)
HIGH FIDELITY (Hulu) - Kingsley Ben-Adir has landed a recurring role on the Nick Hornby series as Russell "Mac" McCormack: "He's charming, worldly, intelligent - though not at all pretentious - and was Rob's most serious boyfriend. Everything seemed to be great, then one day he moved to London, and a year later Rob is still getting over it. But Mac may not be gone from her life for good." (Deadline.com)
LORD OF THE RINGS, THE (Amazon) - "Game of Thrones" alum Bryan Cogman has been tapped to consult on the upcoming J.R.R. Tolkien series, where he'll work alongside co-creators J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. (Variety.com)

UNORTHODOX (Netflix) - Shira Haas, Jeff Wilbusch and Amit Rahav are set to star in the four-part series, which is inspired by Deborah Feldman's New York Times bestselling book of the same name. Production is underway in Berlin with Maria Schrader directing from a script by Anna Winger and Alexa Karolinski. Winger and Henning Kamm are the producers. (Deadline.com)
