Small-town wedding photographer Allie finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery when the groom is shot dead during the first dance. Suspicion turns to Allie's brother Greg, the ex-boyfriend of the bride, so she launches her own investigation to clear his name. As Allie pours over photographs for possible suspects, she tries to help Sam, the newest Detective on the force, as they hunt for the killer and the missing murder weapon.

Crime Fiction Professor Amy and Detective Travis attend a play where a prop gun fires a real bullet, narrowly missing the star Bella. Declaring the theater, a crime scene, Travis interviews the set designer, who owes Bella money, her ex-husband, who wants her back, and Elliot, the male lead, who's enamored with her. Though shaken, Bella throws a party where Duncan, her jealous husband causes a scene, then finds her dead the next morning from a heart attack. Tracing the cause to drugs stolen from a pharmacy, Travis has suspects galore and, luckily, Amy's expertise in whodunits.
