ELBA VS. BLOCK (Quibi, New!) - Actor Idris Elba and professional rally driver Ken Block are set to team for a new eight-episode series on the short-form video platform, in which "the duo go head-to-head as they pit a variety of cars against each other through increasingly outrageous stunts to prove whose car, and which driver is the best." Workerbee and Elba's Green Door Pictures are co-producing. (Deadline.com)
LOVE, SIMON (Disney+) - Ana Ortiz is the first to be cast in the comedy series, based on Becky Albertalli's young adult novel-turned-movie of the same name about Simon, a closeted gay teen growing up in the suburbs of Atlanta. She'll play his mother, Isabel. Jennifer Garner played said role in the feature. Additionally, Isaac Klausner, Pouya Shahbazian and Brian Tanen will join Isaac Aptaker, Elizabeth Berger and Marty Bowen as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
MANHUNT: LONE WOLF (Spectrum) - Arliss Howard, Desmond Harrington, Kelly Jenrette and Ness Bautista are all bound for the anthology's second season. Howard plays Earl Embry, "the top bomb expert in the ATF who has a depth of hands-on knowledge that nobody can rival"; with Harrington as Louis Freeh, "the hard-charging head of the FBI who steered the Bureau through turbulent political waters with a combination of toughness, media savvy and iron-fisted loyalty"; Jenrette as Stacey Knox, "an FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Brennan's partner, who is second in command of the FBI team sent to take point in the Atlanta bombing"; and Bautista as Joe Holliwell, "Embry's partner and an ATF "lab rat" with a PhD in Chemistry who soaks up Embry's hard-earned wisdom." (Deadline.com)
TRACKERS (Cinemax, New!) - The pay channel has signed onto upcoming drama series from South Africa's M-Net and Germany's ZDF, which is based on the novel by bestselling South African author Deon Meyer. The project "interweaves three story strands into a sophisticated action-packed thriller that covers the length and breadth of South Africa, explosively colliding in Cape Town in a violent conspiracy involving organized crime, smuggled diamonds, state security, Black Rhinos, the CIA and an international terrorist plot." James Gracie, Rolanda Marais and Ed Stoppard will star as Lemmer, Milla Strachan and Lukas Becker, respectively. Jyri Kähönen is set to direct all episodes for Three River Fiction, Scene 23 with Scribe Studios. (Deadline.com)
WARRIOR (Cinemax) - Dennie Gordon has been tapped to direct the final two episodes of the show's recently ordered second season. Additionally, she'll helm a pair of installments on Amazon's "The Hunt." (Deadline.com)
