BRAVE NEW WORLD (USA) - Kylie Bunbury, Hannah John-Kamen, Sen Mitsuji, Joseph Morgan and Nina Sosanya are all bound for the network's Aldous Huxley series adaptation. Bunbury plays Frannie, "Lenina's best friend, a Beta Plus who embraces her conditioning and New London's social order"; with John-Kamen as Wilhelmina "Helm" Watson, "a hedonistic artist and New London's premier maker of Feelies"; Mitsuji as Henry Foster, "an Alpha Plus in every way, who works alongside Bernard as a counselor at The Bureau of Stability"; Morgan as CJack60, "an Epsilon relegated to physical, tedious jobs, who is deeply impacted after witnessing a horrifying incident"; and Sosanya as Mustafa Mond, "a World Controller who is responsible for maintaining New London's social structure and utopian promise." CENTRAL PARK (Apple TV+) - Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu) have signed a multi-year overall deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television. Said duo will develop new series projects for the studio as well as join the upcoming Apple TV+ animated series. (Deadline.com)
HOLLYWOOD (Netflix) - Janet Mock has signed an overall deal with the streaming service, marking the first Black trans woman to do so. Mock will develop new series projects for the studio as well as serve as an executive producer on Ryan Murphy's aforementioned Netflix series. (@strongblacklead)
HOT ZONE, THE (NBC) - The cable channel is in talks with producer Fox 21 TV Studios for a second season of the series, which would take on an anthology format going forward. Among the potential topics: the post-9/11 anthrax crisis. (Deadline.com)
MIXED-ISH (ABC) - Mark-Paul Gosselaar has been cast in the prequel series as Bow's father Paul Johnson. He replaces Anders Holm, who played said role in the original backdoor pilot episode. (Deadline.com)
THIS IS US (NBC) - Executive producer Ken Olin has signed a new overall deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television. The pact covers his duties on the series, where he serves as in-house director, as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
