GOOD WITCH, THE (Hallmark) - The cable channel has commissioned a sixth season of the series however co-star Bailee Madison, who plays Grace Russell, will not return. (@BaileeMadison)
LIFE AND DEAF (Disney+, New!) - Marlee Matlin is attached to star in a potential comedy at the streaming service about "a kid growing up in the '70s with deaf parents - and the mischief that ensues when, as their ears and mouthpiece, he is given the 'keys to the kingdom.'" Lizzy Weiss is penning the half-hour project, which is based on the life of Jack Jason, Matlin's long-time interpreter. All three will executive produce alongside Four Boys Entertainment's Patricia Heaton, David Hunt and Rebecca Stay for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
LORD OF THE RINGS, THE (Amazon) - J.A. Bayona (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) has been tapped to helm the first two episodes of the franchise's small screen take, which will "explore new storylines preceding [J.R.R.] Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring." He'll also executive produce alongside his producing partner Belén Atienza. (Deadline.com)
