CHRIS MESSINA JOINS "THE SINNER" SEASON 3

USA Network announced today that The Sinner will return for its hotly-anticipated season three with Sharp Objects star Chris Messina in a major role.

Messina will portray Nick Haas, a college friend to Jamie (previously announced, Matt Bomer). Years after graduation, the two cross paths once again - in what turns out to be a life-changing visit.

Film fans will recognize Messina from a variety of roles that include comedy Vicky Christina Barcelona, thriller The Secrets We Keep, and the upcoming Birds of Prey. Messina also had major roles in shows such as The Mindy Project and The Newsroom.

The Sinner season three once again follows Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) as he investigates a seemingly routine car crash that leads to something far more sinister. Derek Simonds returns as executive producer and showrunner, with Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple as executive producers through their company, Iron Ocean. The series is produced by Universal Content Productions.
