And Chacon will play Tomas Gutierrez, "a nurse who works alongside Jada (Yolonda Ross) whose view of his native Chicago and the people in it is influenced by his cultural heritage." (Deadline.com)
GENIUS (NGC) - David Cross has been cast as music producer Jerry Wexler in the anthology's third installment, which will focus on music legend Aretha Franklin (played by Cynthia Erivo). (Variety.com)

Robertson was also behind a 2016 effort to bring the project to the small screen at E!. (Deadline.com)
VALLEY TRASH (ABC, New!) - Niki Schwartz-Wright has scored a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a single-camera comedy in which "when 14-year-old Abby gets accepted to a prestigious private L.A. high school, neither she nor her hard-working, financially strapped parents are prepared for the culture shock they're about to experience when Abby is thrust into a world occupied by a bunch of brilliant, snobby, rich kids who want nothing to do with her, her family or their 818 area code." Fierce Baby Productions' Nahnatchka Khan will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
