Amazon Prime Video preparing a reboot of the successful Spanish series El Internado (The Boarding School)

The production, which will begin filming in early 2020, will be titled El Internado: Las Cumbres with eight episodes to be shot at natural locations in northern Spain

Amazon Prime Video today announced their upcoming Amazon Exclusive series, El Internado: Las Cumbres, a new version of the successful series El Internado (The Boarding School) that marked a milestone for Spanish drama a decade ago earning huge success among audiences over its seven year run and what proved also to be the launching pad for some of Spain most famous actors today. The original series is currently available on Amazon Prime Video.

A haunting atmosphere, mystery, thriller and higher doses of terror are just some of the basic ingredients of El Internado: Las Cumbres. The story will take place in a school located next to an old monastery, in an inaccessible spot between the mountains, isolated from the world. The students are rebellious and problematic kids who will live under the strict and severe regime of discipline imposed by the center to reintegrate them into society. The surrounding forest is home to ancient legends, ever-present threats that will plunge the students into thrilling and terrifying adventures.

El Internado: Las Cumbres is an Atresmedia Studios and THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO co-production. The new production, which will begin shooting in the first quarter of 2020 and has not yet confirmed the distribution, will be developed in natural settings in northern Spain.
