BABY-SITTERS CLUB, THE (Netflix) - The streaming service's small screen take on the iconic book series has cast Sophie Grace as Kristy Thomas, Malia Baker as Mary-Anne Spier, Momona Tamada as Claudia Kishi, Shay Rudolph as Stacey McGill and Xochitl Gomez as Dawn Schafer. They join the previously announced Alicia Silverstone as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer and Mark Feuerstein as Watson Brewer. (Deadline.com)
CORONAVIRUS PRODUCTION UPDATES (Various) - 27 primetime and syndicated programs have opted to suspend or delay production over coronavirus concerns: "American Ninja Warrior," "Angelyne," "Bull," "Card Sharks," "Carnival Row," "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," "Chicago PD," "Dynasty," "FBI," "FBI: Most Wanted," "Foundation," "The Good Fight," "Grace and Frankie," "Grey's Anatomy," "The Kelly Clarkson Show," "Law & Order: SVU," "Little America," "Making the Band," "The Morning Show," "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "NCIS: New Orleans," "New Amsterdam," "Russian Doll," "Rutherford Falls" and "The Wendy Williams Show." HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES (Disney+) - Roman Banks and Olivia Rose Keegan will recur on the show's sophomore season as Howie, "a hyper-smart, adorkable high school junior who works at Big Red's family's pizza shop"; and Lily, "an energetic and adorable East High freshman whose sweetness masks her insecurity and highly competitive nature," respectively. REBEL (ABC) - Lex Scott Davis has scored a role on the drama pilot as Cassidy, "the daughter of Rebel (Katey Sagal) and Benji Ray (James Lesure), one part attorney and one part recovering juvenile delinquent. She's inherited her confrontational skills from both of her eloquent, argumentative parents, but she's learned to hide her irritation - a skill her mother never will master. Obliged to act as Rebel's attorney again and again, Cassidy is doesn't love being on call for Rebel, especially since Rebel was never on call for her." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JULIA CHILD PROJECT (HBO Max) - Sarah Lancashire has been tapped to play the famous chef, trailblazing cookbook author and TV personality in the drama pilot, from writer Daniel Goldfarb and newly added director Charles McDougall. She succeeds Joan Cusack, who was previously in talks for the role. Also cast in the project are Tom Hollander as Paul Child, "Julia's loving and devoted husband"; Brittany Bradford as Alice, "Associate Producer of the show I've Been Reading who champions Julia after her appearance"; Fran Kranz as Russ, "Producer on the show I've Been Reading who begrudgingly joins Julia's cooking show"; Fiona Glascott as Judith, "the visionary Editor with a knack for pulling manuscripts out of the reject pile and turning them into bestsellers"; Bebe Neuwirth as Avis, "Julia's biggest champion, confidant and best friend"; Isabella Rossellini as Simca, "Julia's co-author"; and Jefferson Mays as Albert, "the host of WGBH's I've Been Reading." Goldfarb, McDougall, Chris Keyser, Erwin Stoff and Kimberly Carver are the executive producers for Lionsgate Television with Todd Schulkin serving as consulting producer on behalf of the Julia Child Foundation. WALKER (The CW) - Violet Brinson and Kale Culley are the latest bound for the "Walker, Texas Ranger" reboot series. Brinson will play Stella Walker: "Sixteen years old, insolent and riding an emotional rollercoaster, Stella is Walker's teenage daughter. Headstrong and smart as hell, she resents her dad for being absent - and she's not about to forgive him anytime soon. Her unrest leads her to ask questions Walker isn't ready to answer." And Culley is Arlo Walker: "Fourteen years old, sweet, sincere and quietly smart, Arlo is Walker's son. Arlo rabidly consumes information and is eager to learn any skill that will help, please and impress his family. Unlike his sister, he doesn't want to cause a stir. In other words, a time bomb." WE'RE NEVER GETTING MARRIED (Quibi, New!) - Mason Flink has sold a potential romantic comedy series to the short-form video service about "two friends forced to confront their perpetual singlehood during an extravagant wedding weekend. As they stumble through Martha's Vineyard, wreaking havoc amongst the guests, Nathan and Marie struggle with the pressure to say "I do," even when you really don't." Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Karina Rahardja will also executive produce via the Sony Pictures Television-based Original Film. Beth York is a producer. (Deadline.com)
Y (FX) - Elliot Fletcher has joined the cast of the DC Comics adaptation as Sam Jordan, "Hero Brown's (Ben Schnetzer) best friend, and enabler. His background (he grew up in poverty with absent parents), has made him resourceful and resilient in a world where surviving men are greeted with suspicion or worse. Street smart but occasionally self-destructive, he is wry and funny, with a big heart." (Deadline.com)
