BATWOMAN (The CW) - Executive producer Caroline Dries released a statement clarifying the future of Ruby Rose's Kate Kane and recasting Batwoman: "Like you, I love Kate Kane - she's the reason I wanted to do the show. We'll never erase her. In fact, her disappearance will be one of the mysteries of season two. I don't want to give away any of our surprises, but to all our devoted fans, please know that LGBTQ+ justice is at the very core of what Batwoman is and we have no intention of abandoning that." (@carolinedries)
COPS (Paramount Network) - On the heels of the show's cancellation, local stations are likewise pulling the docuseries as a result of the nationwide protests against police brutality. "We are currently working with the stations that have licensed 'Cops' to provide options to replace the show within their schedules," distributor Disney Media Networks said in a statement. (Deadline.com)
HARLOTS/REPRISAL (Hulu) - The streaming service has nixed both drama series. The news marks the end of the former after three seasons, while the latter bowed back in December. (Deadline.com)
LINCOLN RHYME: HUNT FOR THE BONE COLLECTOR/PERFECT HARMONY (NBC) - The network has confirmed both freshman entries will not return for second seasons. (Deadline.com)
LIVE PD (A&E) - The cable channel has opted to cancel its flagship series amid the ongoing George Floyd protests against police brutality and racism. "This is a critical time in our nation's history and we have made the decision to cease production on 'Live PD,'" the network said in a statement. "Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments." (Deadline.com)
PROMISED NEVERLAND (Amazon, New!) - Writer Meghan Malloy and director Rodney Rothman are looking to bring the Japanese manga to the small screen at the streaming service. The project "follows a group of the smartest kids at a seemingly idyllic orphanage uncover its dark truth when they break a rule to never leave the orphanage grounds. Once the truth is discovered, they begin to plan an escape to save all of the children." Masi Oka, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon are also on board to executive produce the project for Vertigo Entertainment, Fox 21 and Amazon Studios. (Deadline.com)
RODEO QUEENS (Amazon, New!) - Dakota Johnson is set to topline a mockumentary-style comedy for the streaming service and Platform One Media, which "follows an ensemble of Rodeo Queen hopefuls as they compete for the coveted crown." Writer Christy Hall and director Carrie Brownstein are spearheading the project with TeaTime Pictures' Johnson, Ro Donnelly and Elisa Ellis likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
TEEN MOM (MTV) - The network has cut ties with Taylor Selfridge after her racist tweets from years ago resurfaced on social media. "MTV pulled Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor's Baby Special from its Tuesday schedule and is ending our relationship with Taylor Selfridge in light of her past racist statements on social media," the network said in a statement. "MTV strongly condemns systemic racism and stands with those raising their voices against injustice." (Deadline.com)
