COMEDY CENTRAL'S "THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH" EXPANDS TO FIVE NIGHTS DURING THE WEEKS OF AUGUST 17 AND AUGUST 24 TO COVER THE POLITICAL CONVENTIONS

"The Democratic National Convention - Electing America's First Black President's Friend" airs Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT

"The Republican National Convention - Celebrating February's Record Economy" airs Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT

NEW YORK, August 13, 2020 - Broadcasting from Trevor's apartment, the 2020 Emmy(R)-nominated series "The Daily Show" will expand to five nights to cover the Democratic National Convention and Republican National Convention. The 45-min additional episodes will feature news, analysis, and guest interviews from host Trevor Noah, as well as coverage from the News Team including Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Dulcé Sloan, Jaboukie Young-White and Roy Wood Jr., with special reporting from Jordan Klepper. As in years past, the show will also present biographical films on the party nominees, with Joe Biden and President Donald J. Trump slated to air during the DNC and RNC respectively.

Since 2000, the late-night franchise has historically hit the trail to cover the political conventions with special, dedicated programming. However, with recent events, it will be doing so virtually this year. The back-to-back weeks of convention coverage are billed, "The Daily Social Distancing Show with Trevor Noah" presents "Votegasm 2020" with unique titles for both events. "The Democratic National Convention - Electing America's First Black President's Friend" will air Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT with "The Republican National Convention - Celebrating February's Record Economy" following on Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Last month, "The Daily Show" received six Primetime Emmy nominations, which ties the franchise's record for most nominations since 2014, and the most since Trevor became host. In addition, the "Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series" and "Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series" nominations mark the first time the series has received these nods under Trevor's tenure.
