AMERICAN HORROR STORY (FX) - Ryan Murphy revealed on social media production on the show's 10th season is scheduled to begin in October. (@mrrpmurphy)
CBS TELEVISION STUDIOS SERIES (CBS) - The studio has assigned tentative dates for the return to production on "Magnum P.I." (September 14), "The Neighborhood" (September 16), "NCIS: New Orleans" (September 21), "Bull" (September 25) and "The Unicorn" (October 12). They join the previously announced "NCIS: Los Angeles" (September 3) and "NCIS" (September 9) as well as "S.W.A.T.," which has already resumed filming. (Deadline.com)
FBI (CBS) - Katherine Renee Turner has joined the cast of the series as Tiffany Wallace, "an outspoken, 'best and brightest' who was raised in Bed Stuy. She spent 6 years with the NYPD, mostly narcotics and fell in love with being a Fed after working on a joint task force but is still a bit of an outlier at 26 Fed." (Deadline.com)
FBI: MOST WANTED (CBS) - David Hudgins is taking over the series as showrunner as part of an overall deal he has signed with producer Universal Television. He'll succeed René Balcer as the spin-off is "adjusting its creative direction." (Deadline.com)
HIGHFIRE (Amazon, New!) - Nicolas Cage will lend his voice to a proposed small screen take on Eoin Colfer's novel, billed as "a gritty crime-thriller with doses of magical realism. Its central character, Highfire (Cage) is a vodka-drinking, Flashdance-loving dragon who lives an isolated existence in the bayous of Louisiana." Davey Holmes is behind the project, which he'll executive produce alongside Cage and Andrew Mittman for the latter's MGM Television-based 1.21 banner. (Deadline.com)
MAID (Netflix) - Nick Robinson is set to star opposite Margaret Qualley in the drama, in which a single mother turns to housekeeping to make ends meet as she battles poverty, homelessness and bureaucracy. His role was not specified. (Deadline.com)
PRETENDERS, THE (The CW, New!) - Brandon Zuck has sold a new drama to the netlet, about "a seemingly normal suburban family is hiding a big secret: they're actually individual assets in the Witness Protection Program, placed together to provide safe cover for three of the assets who are unrelated minors." Damon Wayans Jr., Kameron Tarlow and Devon Greggory will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios and Two Shakes Entertainment. (Variety.com)
QUIBI ORIGINAL SERIES (Quibi) - The short-form streaming service has revealed the premiere dates for its 14 fall offerings: "Singled Out" Season 2 (September 7), "Wireless" (September 14), "Murder Unboxed" (September 21), "Benedict Men" (September 28), "The Expecting" (September 28), "Natural Born Narco" (October 5), "Gloop World" (October 5), "Last Looks" (October 12), "50 States of Fright" Season 2 (October 26), "Ten Weeks" (November 2), "Slugfest" (November 9), "Punk'd" Season 2 (November 16), "This Joka" (November 23), and "Thanks a Million" Season 2 (November 23). (Deadline.com)
SERPENT, THE (Netflix) - Filming has resumed on the upcoming eight-part limited series - about serial murderer Charles Sobhraj, known as the Bikini Killer, who preyed on Western tourists in Southeast Asia during the 1970s - afear a near five-month pause. Said effort required shifting the remaining days of production from Asia to Europe "with the support of independent health and safety consultants, in accordance with all safety guidelines." (Variety.com)
SHINING VALE (Starz) - Gus Birney and Dylan Gage are set to star opposite Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear in the comedy pilot. Birney will play Gaynor Phelps, "Pat (Cox) and Terry (Kinnear)'s 16-year-old daughter who is going through that awful phase where she's smarter than everyone and angry at the world - and by the world we mean her mother, whom she (rightfully) blames for uprooting the family from Brooklyn to suburban Connecticut." Gage then is Jake Phelps, "the Phelps' pubescent son who is always glued to some sort of screen." (Deadline.com)
X-FILES, THE: ALBUQUERQUE (FOX, New!) - Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko are spearheading an animated spin-off of Chris Carter's much-ballyhooed series. Said effort, which has received a script and presentation commitment, "will center an office full of misfit agents who investigate X-Files cases too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder and Scully to bother with." Carter and Gabe Rotter will executive produce alongside the duo for Bento Box Entertainment. (TVLine.com)
