DREAMERS, THE (ABC, New!) - Mother-daughter duo Marta Kauffman and Hannah K.S. Canter are set to team for a new drama at the Alphabet about "a small college town that is transformed by a mysterious sickness that locks victims in perpetual sleep and triggers extraordinary, life-altering dreams." (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Mckenna Grace will recur on the new season, which has resumed production in Toronto. She'll play Mrs. Keyes, "a sharply intelligent, teenaged wife of a much older Commander who rules her farm and household with confidence. She has a rebellious, subversive streak, and is calm and pious on the outside with turmoil, even insanity, on the inside." (Deadline.com)
HOME ECONOMICS (ABC) - Chloe Jo Rountree, Jecobi Swain and Jordyn Curet have all been cast in the comedy pilot, which follows three adult siblings (Topher Grace, Caitlin McGee, TBD) who fall into different wealth brackets: upper, middle and lower class. They'll play cousins, "as the children of the focal three siblings." (Variety.com)
MARVEL'S SHE-HULK (Disney+) - Tatiana Maslany has been tapped for the title role on the upcoming series: Jennifer Walters, "an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gives Walters her powers, but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out." (Deadline.com)
MORE (HBO Max, New!) - Amy Chozick has booked a potential family soap at the streaming service "which explores influence, the most elusive and modern form of power." The project, which has received an order for a pilot script and two back-up scripts, is set up at the Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions. Brett Matthews, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden will also executive produce with Erika Kennair producing. (THR.com)
PIVOTING (FOX) - J.T. Neal is bound for the Ginnifer Goodwin/Eliza Coupe-led comedy pilot as Matt, "a cute, guileless, trainer who, while not an intellectual, is a savant when it comes to fitness. A sheltered guy, he still lives with his mother. He is wildly attracted to Jodie (Goodwin) and respects her commitment to getting in shape. Because of his own mommy issues, he is drawn to the way she takes care of him." Tommy Dewey also stars. (Deadline.com)
SEE (Apple TV+) - The Jason Momoa-led drama is scheduled to resume shooting October 14 at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto. (Deadline.com)
SUEÑO (FOX, New!) - Writer Gabriel Llanas and director Marcos Siega are developing a new drama at the network inspired by the life of U.S. international soccer star Jorge Villafaña. The project, which has a penalty attached, "follows a young Mexican-American man and his family as he battles through a competitive soccer reality show." Robbie Rogers, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden will also executive produce with Erika Kennair producing for the Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions. (THR.com)
SURREALTOR, THE (Syfy) - Melanie Scrofano will guest on the upcoming drama as Harper North, "a bright young woman who finds herself at a crossroads, having been instructed to sell her lakeside family home... though somehow she can't." She'll also helm two of the series' 10 episodes. Production began this week in Newfoundland, Canada. (TVLine.com)
THIRST (HBO, New!) - Leah Benavides Rodriguez and Carlito Rodriguez have sold a potential drama to the pay channel about "a brilliant but cocky Atlanta rapper who thinks he's found his way to stardom when he links up with hip-hop's hottest group. But he has no idea they are hiding a terrifying secret: They are a family of vampires with roots going back centuries." Kevin Jordan, Macro Television Studios' Charles D. King and Marta Fernandez, Blue Monday Productions' Ben Watkins, and The 51's Malcolm Spellman and Nichelle Tramble Spellman will also executive produce. (Variety.com)
TWO SENTENCE HORROR STORIES (The CW) - The netlet has commissioned a third season of the horror anthology series in advance of its season two launch. Said run was previously targeted for the fall however the industry's coronavirus-imposed production shutdown will push it until the first quarter of 2021. (Deadline.com)
