WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHILDREN? INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY EXAMINES THE CASE AGAINST LORI VALLOW IN "DOOMSDAY: THE MISSING CHILDREN"

- Three-Hour Event begins Sunday, December 20 at 9/8c -

-Available to stream on discovery+ beginning January 4-

(Silver Spring, Md.) - The world was captivated in the autumn of 2019, when the news first broke of the disappearance of 7-year-old JJ Vallow and his stepsister, 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, from their home in Rexburg, Idaho. As months passed, with no answers or clues to their whereabouts, police and family looked to their mother, 46-year-old Lori Vallow, for an explanation. Ten months later, in June 2020, a shocking discovery was made on the rural Idaho farm of Vallow's husband, Chad Daybell, leaving their friends, family, law enforcement -and the world - to wonder, what happened to JJ and Tylee?

For the first time ever, America's number one destination in true crime takes a deeper look into the events that led up to these disappearances through the eyes of the grandparents who desperately prayed for their return. DOOMSDAY: THE MISSING CHILDREN is a three-hour event premiering on Sunday, December 20 at 9/8c only on Investigation Discovery.

ID exclusively follows JJ and Tylee's grandparents, Larry and Kay Woodcock on their journey to find the truth. As they travel the country, they gather information from local law enforcement, and concerned friends to create a timeline for the children's legal guardian, Lori Vallow. What they uncover during their investigation is a story too strange to be real. Viewers will join the investigation examining allegations into Lori's religious beliefs, including allegations that Vallow believed she was immortal, and her children had been replaced by zombies. According to friends and family, Vallow adhered to the belief that the destruction of mankind was imminent, which could potentially explain the bizarre behavior of Lori and her husband leading up to the discovery of the children. This three-hour event allows viewers to explore all of this evidence from the disappearance of the children to the dramatic arrest of Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell for concealment of evidence. With the trial of Vallow and Daybell on the horizon for 2021, perhaps the Woodcocks, will finally get the answers they so desperately need.

DOOMSDAY: THE MISSING CHILDREN is produced for Investigation Discovery by Category 6 Media(TM) group with Anne Garofalo Paterno, Tiff Winton and Sharon Scott as Executive Producers. For Investigation Discovery, Pamela Deutsch is Executive Producer, Sara Kozak is Senior Vice President of Production, Kevin Bennett is General Manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President of Investigation Discovery, Travel Channel, American Heroes Channel and Destination America.
