The special event dives into Brockovich's little-known backstory as she opens up about the challenges she overcame while growing up in small-town Kansas, life as a single mom, being thrust into the spotlight - first portrayed by Julia Roberts in the Oscar(R)-winning film and now as the inspiration for the ABC series "Rebel" - and life today as an environmental activist. The program includes an interview with "Rebel" creator and executive producer Krista Vernoff, who reveals her surprising similarities to Brockovich in real life. The special also features an exclusive interview with Brockovich's daughter, Elizabeth Brockovich, about life today, over a decade after she first opened up to ABC News about her struggles with substance abuse.
