DROPOUT, THE (Hulu) - The streamer's Elizabeth Holmes (played by Amanda Seyfried) limited series has cast William H. Macy as Richard Fuisz, "an ex-CIA agent and an inventor of biomedical devices"; Laurie Metcalf as Phyllis Gardner, "a scientist, doctor and successful entrepreneur"; Elizabeth Marvel as Noel Holmes, "Elizabeth Holmes' mother"; Utkarsh Ambudkar as Rakesh Madhava, "one of the first employees at Theranos"; Kate Burton as Rochelle Gibbons; Stephen Fry as Ian Gibbons, "the brilliant head of chemistry at Theranos"; Michel Gill as Chris Holmes, "Elizabeth Holmes' father and hero"; Michael Ironside as Don Lucas, "one of the first venture capitalists to invest in Theranos"; Bill Irwin as Channing Robertson, "head of Chemical Engineering/professor at Stanford and an early cheerleader of Elizabeth Holmes"; and Josh Pais as Wade Maquelon, "the CFO of Walgreens." GANG'S ALL QUEER, THE (HBO, New!) - Jaboukie Young-White has sold a potential comedy to the pay channel based on Vanessa R. Panfil's book, subtitled "The Lives of Gay Gang Members," in which "grieving a gang-related death, a closeted twenty-something in Chicago ditches college to find reckless closure." Hoorae Media's Issa Rae and Montrel McKay; and 3 Arts Entertainment's Jonathan Berry, Olivia Gerke and Dave Becky will also executive produce with Sara Rastogi as a co-executive producer. GOD'S FAVORITE IDIOT (Netflix) - The streamer has opted to shut down production on the Melissa McCarthy/Ben Falcone-led comedy series after eight episodes, instead of 16 as previously announced. The other eight will potentially shoot in a separate batch at a later date. (Variety.com)
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Milo Ventimiglia is bound for the upcoming season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com)
OFFENDERS, THE (Amazon) - Claes Bang has signed onto Stephen Merchant's upcoming series as Dean, "a mysterious and terrifying London gang boss, who is chasing a debt owed by the offenders." (Deadline.com)
OUR KIND OF PEOPLE (FOX) - Joe Morton has signed onto the upcoming drama as Teddy Franklin, "Leah's (LaToya Luckett) father, who is “smooth as butter, smart as a whip.” He was born into money and grew his family's sanitation company into one of the largest holding companies in the world. He accomplished his present wealth and status by being more rapacious and manipulative than anyone else in the business. When Leah takes him to task for buying out Black properties for pennies on the dollar, he has no apologies to make, and reminds her where her current wealth and privilege came from. He has an arcane connection to Angela's (Yaya DaCosta) past that may soon come to light." (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED COBURN & WOOTTON PROJECT (NBC) - Justin Lin has signed on to direct and executive produce in the drama pilot, a pulse-pounding, high-stakes two-hander featuring two women - a recently captured brilliant criminal mastermind who orchestrates a number of coordinated bank heists for a mysterious purpose, and the principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent who will stop at nothing to foil her ambitious plan.
