· Netflix has announced today a straight-to-series order for an untitled half-hour workplace comedy inspired by the front office of one of the most iconic franchises in the world of sports: the 17-time NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers.

· Logline: The series is inspired by the personal and professional dynamic between the family owners and front office team that together run one of the most iconic franchises in all of sports: the Los Angeles Lakers. The workplace comedy follows fictional team governor Eliza Reed as she navigates NBA ownership and family drama with her best friend by her side.

· Episodes: 10

· Showrunner/Writer/Executive Producer: Elaine Ko (Modern Family) executive produces the series along with

· Executive Producers: Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project, The Office, Netflix's Never Have I Ever), Jeanie Buss and Linda Rambis of the Lakers, and Howard Klein (The Mindy Project, The Office).

· Studio: The series is produced by Mindy Kaling's Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Kaling is under an overall deal.

· About Elaine Ko: Elaine Ko was an executive producer on ABC's Modern Family. She is credited with writing 28 episodes of the hit comedy and directing two. For her work on Modern Family, Ko shared in two of the show's Emmy(R) Award wins for Outstanding Comedy Series and earned an individual Writers Guild Award for Episodic Comedy for her episode "Virgin Territory."

· About Mindy Kaling: Mindy Kaling co-created and executive produces the acclaimed Netflix series Never Have I Ever, which returns for a second season in July 2021. She is currently in production on the first season of her HBO Max/Warner Bros. Television comedy The Sex Lives of College Girls, and she is also executive producing and voicing the title character in Warner Bros. Animation's upcoming HBO Max adult animated comedy Velma. She previously created and starred in The Mindy Project, and also was a writer, executive producer, and star of The Office, earning six Emmy nominations. Kaling also executive produced, wrote, and starred in the feature film Late Night, and she is the author of the New York Times-bestselling books Why Not Me?, and Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? · About Jeanie Buss: Jeanie Buss is responsible for running all aspects of the Los Angeles Lakers organization. She became the first female Governor to win an NBA Championship when the Lakers tied a league record with their 17th NBA title in 2020. An L.A. native, Buss is active in charitable endeavors throughout Southern California, serves on the board of directors for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, and is a member of the USC Board of Trustees. Throughout her career, Buss has been at the forefront of numerous sports and entertainment ventures, holding leadership positions at the Great Western Forum, World Team Tennis' Los Angeles Strings, professional roller hockey's Los Angeles Blades, and WOW - Women of Wrestling.

· About Linda Rambis: Linda Rambis is the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Lakers. A native of Chicago, she has worked for the Lakers since 1979. In her role, Rambis is integrally involved in almost every element of the Lakers organization, working closely with Governor Jeanie Buss. Rambis is married to former Lakers great and four-time NBA champion Kurt Rambis. They have three adult children and live in Manhattan Beach.

· About Jordan Rambis: Jordan Rambis is an entertainment, video game, and esports executive and entrepreneur. Rambis is the Head of Development for Imprezario Entertainment and currently serves as the City of Los Angeles's Executive in Residence for Video Games and Esports. He was previously Head of Business Development for aXiomatic Gaming.
