24 (FOX) - Tne network is having "active creative discussions" about a new installment of the franchise. "There's still a possibility, there's still some discussions with the producers on a take that we have yet to hear," FOX Entertainment President Michael Thorn said. "There [are] some active creative discussions that are happening." (Deadline.com)
CHARMED (The CW) - Australian actress Lucy Barrett will join the cast of the new season as one of the principal leads, succeeding Madeleine Mantock. No details on her role were given. (Deadline.com)
FANTASY ISLAND (FOX) - The network is considering a second season of the reboot series. "We're really high on it and it's been exciting for us to cross pollinate some of the stars that we have in other series and do other exciting turns on Fantasy Island," said FOX Entertainment President Michael Thorn. "We definitely see a potential second season and it's something that we're talking about now. We're very pleased with the show and Liz [Craft] and Sarah [Fain] did a very good job." (Deadline.com)
FIRST WIVES CLUB (BET+) - The streamer has commissioned a third season of the film-turned-TV series. (Deadline.com)
HIDE (Peacock, New!) - David Tennant is attached to star in a new drama at the streamer, billed as "a Jekyll & Hyde tale by way of a conspiracy thriller," about "a disgraced journalist (David Tennant) stumbles upon a story that could resurrect his career. But he quickly learns he's seen something he shouldn't have, and is now the target of unknown adversaries who will do anything to silence him. On the run as people around him go missing or die, a serious accident has an extraordinary side effect, and he realizes there are monsters in the world - and he may be one of them." Writers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters and director Julie Anne Robinson are behind the project with said group, Tennant and his wife, Georgia Tennant, executive producing for CannyLads, Fazakas & Butters and Universal Television. MURDAUGH FAMILY MYSTERIES (HBO Max, New!) - Campfire Studios is developing a multi-part documentary series for the streamer about "the mysterious, still-unraveling events surrounding the murders of a mother and son from a prominent family of lawyers in small-town South Carolina." Ross Dinerstein will executive produce with Rebecca Evans and Ross Girard serving as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)
NIMH (FOX, New!) - The network is developing an animated take on Robert C. O'Brien's "Rats of NIMH" book series, which "follows Mrs. Frisby, a mouse, who in an effort to save her family goes on a spectacular journey through an unfamiliar and underground world to discover a colony of escaped super-intelligent lab rats who help her on a thrilling adventure to relocate her home before the plows and exterminators arrive." FOX Entertainment and Orion Television are behind the project, which is searching for a writer. (Deadline.com)
QUEENS (ABC) - Precious Way has scored a recurring role on the newcomer as Jojo, "Naomi's, 20-year-old, estranged daughter, who has been living with her grandmother while Naomi has been chasing after her elusive lost fame. Bitterly resentful of her absentee mother, JoJo has written Naomi off for good, and tells her so in no uncertain terms. But when Naomi invites her to attend her comeback at one of the award shows, JoJo is dazzled by this side of her mother, a new perception of Naomi that may spark their reconciliation." (Deadline.com)
TRUE LIES (CBS) - Steve Howey has scored the Arnold Schwarzenegger role on the film-turned-TV series pilot: Harry, "described as a benign, play-it-safe, seemingly risk-averse computer salesman and devoted family man, married with two kids. But in reality, Harry is an undercover operative, a first-class spy working for a covert U.S. Intelligence organization." Anthony Hemingway is directing from a script by Matt Nix with James Cameron, Rae Sanchini, McG, Mary Viola, Corey Marsh and Josh Levy also executive producing and Anthony Hemingway Productions' Sean Hoagland and Whitney Davis co-executive producing.
