Van Toffler, CEO of Gunpowder & Sky, and his MTV Films co-founder David Gale - the duo behind Napoleon Dynamite, Election, Save The Last Dance, Varsity Blues, Election, Coach Carter among many others - reunite with MTV to develop comedic movies for MTVE's portfolio of brands and platforms

New pact comes on the heels of Comedy Central's Hot Mess Holiday starring Kal Penn, recently nominated for two NAACP Image Awards

February 1, 2022 - New York, NY - On the heels of their successful collaboration on Hot Mess Holiday starring Kal Penn, MTV Entertainment Group today announced a multi-picture deal with independent studio Gunpowder & Sky led by Van Toffler, former CEO of Viacom Media Networks Music & Logo Group. Under this new pact, Gunpowder & Sky - who recently teamed up with MTVE on Hot Mess Holiday - will develop comedic movies for MTV Entertainment's portfolio of brands and platforms.

"Van and David are incredible creatives and proven hit makers with great taste - we're excited to partner with them and develop a new slate of comedic movies which I have no doubt will be hilarious and incredibly entertaining," said Chris McCarthy, President & CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks.
