Bruna Papandrea's Made Up Stories, Kristen Campo and Endeavor Content Acquire New York Times Bestselling Author Jean Hanff Korelitz's Upcoming Novel, "The Latecomer," to Adapt as a Television Limited Series

BRUNA PAPANDREA'S MADE UP STORIES, KRISTEN CAMPO AND ENDEAVOR CONTENT ACQUIRE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR JEAN HANFF KORELITZ'S UPCOMING NOVEL, "THE LATECOMER," TO ADAPT AS A TELEVISION LIMITED SERIES

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 22, 2022) - Bruna Papandrea's Made Up Stories and Kristen Campo have acquired the rights to the New York Times bestselling author Jean Hanff Korelitz's upcoming novel, The Latecomer, to adapt as a limited series for television. The Latecomer is set to publish in May 2022 by Celadon. Hanff Korelitz's previous books include The Plot, You Should Have Known (adapted for HBO as THE UNDOING), and Admission (adapted as the 2013 Focus Features film of the same name). Hanff Korelitz will executive produce the series alongside Emmy(R)-winning Papandrea and Made Up Stories' Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver and Campo in partnership with Endeavor Content, who brokered the book deal.

The Latecomer is a darkly funny and soapy ensemble story about the complex Oppenheimer family who, after generations of harboring secrets from each other, is taken to task by their youngest member Phoebe. As she sets out to resolve the problems plaguing her fractured family once and for all, she'll uncover even more dirty laundry than any of them could have ever expected.

This project marks another female-forward, coveted book-to-television adaptation for Made Up Stories, coming off the success of THE UNDOING, HBO's most watched series of 2020, based on Hanff Korelitz's You Should Have Known, NINE PERFECT STRANGERS, based on best-selling author Liane Moriarty's book, that premiered in August 2021 and immediately became Hulu's most watched original series, ever, and the recently premiered the genre-bending romantic comedy series WOLF LIKE ME for Peacock and Stan, written and created by Abe Forsythe, and starring Josh Gad and Isla Fisher. The company is in various stages of production on the Netflix thriller PIECES OF HER which premieres on March 4th on Netflix, adapted from Karin Slaughter's book; ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL, based on the international bestseller by Sarah Vaughan for Netflix, which premieres on April 15th; the anthology series ROAR which also premieres April 15th for Apple TV+, based on Cecelia Ahern's short story collection; and the Amazon Prime Video series THE LOST FLOWERS OF ALICE HART, adapted by Sarah Lambert from Holly Ringland's debut novel, among others. Kristen Campo has a first look deal with Endeavor Content with multiple projects in development. She's currently producing THE L-WORD: GENERATION Q for Showtime, PARTNER TRACK for Netflix and has a recently announced project with a series order at Onyx/Hulu based on the best-selling novel The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz. Prior credits in include TRUTH BE TOLD for Apple and THE KILLING for AMC/Netflix.
