CBS News and Stations' Coverage to Feature Gayle King's Interviews with Voters Across the Country on Their Expectations of and Reactions to the Address

CBS News and Stations will deliver comprehensive, multiplatform coverage and analysis of President Joe Biden's first State of the Union address and the Republican response on Tuesday, March 1 across all broadcasts and platforms. The CBS News Streaming Network will feature coverage beginning at 7:00 AM, ET. Primetime coverage begins streaming at 8:00 PM, ET, on CBS News and continues with a CBS News Special Report on streaming and on the CBS Television Network from 9:00-11:00 PM, ET, led by CBS EVENING NEWS Anchor and Managing Editor Norah O'Donnell and the team of CBS News political journalists. CBS News' coverage on all platforms will include extensive reporting and analysis before and after the speech, in addition to reporting from the team of correspondents in Washington, D.C.

Norah O'Donnell will anchor the multiplatform coverage from Washington, D.C., and be joined in studio by CBS MORNINGS co-host Gayle King, FACE THE NATION moderator and chief foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan, chief political analyst John Dickerson and chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes. CBS News chief campaigns & elections correspondent Robert Costa and congressional correspondents Nikole Killion and Scott MacFarlane will report from Capitol Hill; senior White House and political correspondent Ed O'Keefe will join from the White House. CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett will lead fact-checking throughout the coverage, and CBS News chief justice and national affairs correspondent Jeff Pegues will report on the security measures around the Capitol and in Washington. CBS News elections and surveys director Anthony Salvanto will provide instant polling of reactions to the president's address. CBS News business analyst Jill Schlessinger will join the coverage for the latest on how the economy and rising inflation is impacting peoples' lives and the political conversation. Former Texas Republican congressman Will Hurd and Democratic strategist and CBS News political contributor Joel Payne will also contribute analysis.

During the coverage, the power and scope of a unified CBS News and Stations group - along with the Network's commitment to understanding and reporting on what's driving voters to the polls - will be on full display as Gayle King interviews people across the country about their expectations for President Biden's address, followed by their immediate reactions. The interviews will be featured across CBS News and Stations' coverage on air and on streaming.

Following the conclusion of the State of the Union address and the Republican response, the team of CBS News journalists will continue with reporting and analysis on the CBS News Streaming Network. CBS News' all-day streaming coverage will include a special edition of RED & BLUE at 6:00 PM, ET, anchored by Elaine Quijano from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York, with Major Garrett co-anchoring from Washington. Anthony Salvanto will deliver the latest polling. CBS News senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang will anchor the 7:00 PM, ET hour, followed by CBS News reporter Caitlin Huey-Burns and CBS News Radio's Steve Dorsey joining the coverage at 8:00 PM, ET. · The CBS News Streaming Network will have comprehensive coverage across the stream, all day and all night on March 1 featuring special live pre- and post-address coverage, beginning at 7:00 AM, ET. In addition to the special coverage beginning at 8:00 PM, ET, the CBS News Streaming Network will simulcast the Network's coverage of President Biden's speech and the Republican response (9:00-11:00 PM, ET). Post-address coverage and analysis will stream immediately after, followed by a replay of Biden's address in its entirety. The following day, CBS News Streaming will continue its coverage with reporting and analysis.

· On CBS MORNINGS, co-hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Nate Burleson will interview newsmakers with the team of CBS News political journalists providing the latest headlines ahead of the State of the Union. On Tuesday, Tony Dokoupil will report on how rising inflation is affecting the everyday lives of Americans and what they hope to hear from President Biden on the economy when he addresses the nation. On Wednesday, Gayle King will co-host live from Washington, D.C., with the latest developments and be joined by chief political analyst John Dickerson for analysis.

· The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O'DONNELL will broadcast from its home in Washington, D.C., with special coverage and original reporting by O'Donnell and the CBS News team.

· FACE THE NATION and moderator Margaret Brennan will continue coverage of the domestic and foreign issues shaping President Biden's first State of the Union address, including the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Americans' sentiments on the economy, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the upcoming historic nomination of a Black woman to the United States Supreme Court.
