BAMMAS (Hulu) - Sope Aluko has scored a role on the comedy pilot as Tolu, "a doting mother and devout Christian who is very protective of her two kids. She is focused on her children achieving the American dream she and her late husband had hoped for them by emigrating." (Deadline.com)
FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, THE (Netflix) - Frank Langella has been fired from the Edgar Allan Poe adaptation after an investigation "determined that Langella had been involved in unacceptable conduct on set." The role will be recast and his completed scenes reshot. (Deadline.com)
IRRATIONAL, THE (NBC) - Jesse L. Martin ("The Flash") has been tapped to star in the drama pilot, which centers on Alec Baker, a world-renowned professor of behavioral science who lends his expertise to an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement, and corporations with his unique and unexpected approach to understanding human behavior. Martin, who will receive a producer credit, is involved in first position and will not return as a regular on The CW series. The actor however could still do "as many as five episodes" should the pilot be ordered to series. It's understood filming is targeted for late May-early June in Vancouver, meaning it will not be in consideration for NBC's fall schedule. (Deadline.com)
LAST THING HE TOLD ME, THE (Apple TV+) - Olivia Newman will direct and co-executive produce the Jennifer Garner-led limited series, based on Laura Dave's bestselling novel of the same name. (Deadline.com)
ORVILLE, THE (Hulu) - There are no current plans for a fourth season of the series as producer 20th Television released the cast in August when their most recent options expired. Said report adds that the "door has been left open for MacFarlane to revisit it with a new installment if/when he wants to do it in the future." The long-delayed third season is set to roll out on June 2, more than three years after its second two finale. (Deadline.com)
RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES, THE (HBO) - Jody Hill has signed a one-year overall deal with HBO and HBO Max which will keep his directing and producing services exclusive to the WarnerMedia entities. (THR.com)
TED LASSO (Apple TV+) - Jodi Balfour will recur on the upcoming third season as Jack, "a charming venture capitalist." (Deadline.com)
