ALIEN/KINDRED (FX) - Bobak Esfarjani has signed an overall deal with producer FX Productions. The pact will cover his duties on both series as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
GREAT GAME, THE (CBS, New!) - John Hlavin and Matthew Newman are spearheading a new drama at the Eye in which "a washed-up but charming British spy is reluctantly recruited out of retirement by a bright-eyed, tech-savvy, female CIA agent, giving him a shot at redemption as he re-learns the modern, ruthless game of international espionage." The project, inspired by an unpublished novel of the same name by Newman, has opened a writers' room to generate multiple scripts for a potential straight-to-series order. Alex Kurtzman, Aaron Baiers and Heather Kadin will also executive produce for their CBS Studios-based Secret Hideout banner. (Deadline.com)
LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Raúl Esparza will reprise his role of Rafael Barba in the upcoming season 23 finale. Said installment also features Jordana Spiro in which "Barba is called to help when a domestic violence victim (Spiro) ends up being prosecuted. MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Reid Scott's Gordon Ford is being promoted to regular for the show's fifth and final season. (Deadline.com)
ONE FOR THE ROAD (HBO, New!) - Nicholas Braun and Chris Buongiorno are set to team for a potential half-hour series at the pay channel described as a "candid and intimate story of a talented but dysfunctional band struggling to survive the rapidly changing landscape of independent music in the early 2000s."
