DEMIMONDE (HBO) - Danielle Deadwyler has booked the lead role in the long-in-the-works series from J.J. Abrams in which after "a woman, Olive Reed (Deadwyler), is torn away from her husband and daughter in a brutal scientific accident, she is forced to unravel a conspiracy to reunite with her family, now lost to a dark, distant other world." Kira Snyder, Rand Ravich, Far Shariat and Ben Stephenson also executive produce with Rachel Rusch Rich as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
EVIL (Paramount+) - Andrea Martin's Sister Andrea will return as a regular for the series' upcoming third season. (TVLine.com)
IDOL, THE (HBO) - Director Amy Seimetz has bowed out of the music industry drama series. It's understood co-creator Sam Levinson "is now expected to have more of a role in directing the series." (Deadline.com)
KILL THE ORANGE-FACED BEAR (TBS) - The Damon Wayans, Jr.-led comedy series has been nixed "a week before the comedy series was scheduled to begin production on its 10-episode order in Vancouver." Producers plan to shop the project, which had previously completed a pilot, elsewhere. Said decision is reportedly tied to the newly merged Warner Bros. Discovery's pledge "to deliver $3 billion in cost savings." (Deadline.com)
LADY IN THE LAKE (Apple TV+) - Y'lan Noel, Mikey Madison and Brett Gelman are all bound for the Natalie Portman/Lupita Nyong'o-led limited series. No details about their roles were given. (Deadline.com)
MISSING, THE (Peacock) - Steven Pasquale, Stephanie Szostak and Tony Curran are slated to recur on the eight-episode series in yet-to-be-revealed roles. (Deadline.com)
POKER FACE (Peacock) - Oscar winner Adrien Brody is the latest bound for the Natasha Lyonne-led top secret series. (Deadline.com)
POWER BOOK II: GHOST (Starz) - Luna Lauren Vélez will reprise her role of Evelyn Castillo, "the wife of Frank Tejada (David Zayas) and the sister-in-law of Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon)," in five episodes during the upcoming third season. (Variety.com)
RAISING DION (Netflix) - The streamer has pulled the plug on the superhero drama after two seasons. (Deadline.com)
RAMY (Hulu) - Julian Sergi has joined the cast of the show's third season as Yuval, "a new business partner for the title character (played by series creator Ramy Youssef)." (Variety.com)
SLIP (Roku) - Emily Hampshire, Whitmer Thomas, Tymika Tafari and Amar Chadha-Patel will star opposite Emily Hampshire in the comedy series. They'll play Sandy, Elijah, Gina and Eric, respectively. No other character details were given. (Deadline.com)
