Additional Cast Include Phoebe Holden and Andrea Navedo

Grammy and Latin Grammy-Winner Cheche Alara Set to Write Three Original Songs

July 20, 2022 - Burbank, CA - HBO Max revealed today a first look from the upcoming two-part event, B. Loved. Currently shooting in New Jersey, the live-action special stars Peyton List (Cobra Kai) as Bea, a free-spirited teenage ghost who forms a special friendship with the new boy in town, Cole (Michael Cimino, Love, Victor), whose house she has been inhabiting for over 100 years. Directed by Emily Ting (Tall Girl 2), from a script by Black List Nicholl Fellowship winner, Cesar Vitale, the ghostly romance is scheduled to premiere in time for Valentine's Day 2023.

Rounding out the cast are Phoebe Holden (Tiger Girl) and Andrea Navedo (Jane the Virgin). Holden plays Cole's new friend, Lydia, who helps him navigate his relationship with Bea. Recent credits include the Sundance Director's Lab project, Tiger Girl, and Syracuse Stage's I and You. Navedo plays Cole's mom, Catarina, who has moved to a new town for a fresh start and is getting used to life on her own with a teenage son. Navedo's credits include Jane the Virgin and A Million Little Things.

Additionally, Grammy and Latin Grammy-winner composer, musical director, arranger, producer and conductor, Cheche Alara has been tapped to write three original songs for the special. Alara has written, produced, and arranged music for artists such as Camila Cabello, Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand, and Christina Aguilera, among many others. He has composed music for multiple television series, and served as music producer and director for several Grammy Awards premiere ceremonies. Alara co-wrote the three original B. Loved songs with longtime songwriting collaborator, Justin Young.

In B. Loved, Bea is an adventurous, funny, curious teenager who also happens to be a host from the 1920s trapped in present day. Though she might find herself getting into precarious situations at times, she loves to explore unknown places. Bea gives her heart passionately to the things she loves, and with the help of new friend Cole, she starts to experience the world again.

The special is produced by Endeavor Content and Wonder Worldwide, and executive produced by Mark Burton and Aaron Parry, Tracy K. Price, William Andrew, Ryan Malachowsky, and Jill Sanford.
