ACOLYTE, THE (Disney+) - Amandla Stenberg has been formally announced as toplining the "Star Wars" series, seven months after originally being reported. (Deadline.com)
CINDY SNOW (FOX) - The network has passed on Steve Yockey's single-camera comedy project, which was featured during its upfront presentation in May, for the 2022-23 season. It's understood despite being a strong contender for a straight-to-series order, producer Warner Bros. Television will now try and shop it elsewhere. FOX however may ultimately revisit the series for the 2023-24 season. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Midori Francis is the latest addition to the show's 19th season as Mika Yasuda, "a middle child with eight siblings. She is used to being overlooked and underestimated and uses it to her advantage. Mika is dealing with overwhelming student loans from med school, but she's scrappy and confident she can make it in the program and rise to the top." (Deadline.com)
ICONS UNEARTHED (Vice) - The cable channel has renewed the series for a six-episode second season, to be focused on the long-running animated sitcom "The Simpsons." Bill Oakley, Rich Moore, Jon Vitti, Mimi Pond, Doug Benson, Todd McFarlane, Garth Ancier, Phil Roman and Jennifer Howell are among those featured in the project. (Variety.com)
JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL (FX) - A shooting has temporarily shut down production on the eight-episode limited series. "No one was injured during the Wednesday night intrusion, though shell casings were found on the set later," the report said. "The cast and crew hit the ground and took cover when the incident occurred near the city's Douglass Park." Filming is expected to resume Monday. (Deadline.com)
NEW AMSTERDAM (NBC) - Executive producer Erika Green Swafford has signed an exclusive overall deal with Disney's Onyx Collective where she'll develop new series projects via her Chocolate Girl Wonder banner. (Deadline.com)
ONE TRUE SINGER/RUXX (HBO Max) - Proposed second seasons of both series have been shuttered as part of streamer's rollback of its European originals. (Deadline.com)
