KLEO - Netflix confirms the second season of the action-thriller

Berlin, September XX, 2022: Always at your service - for Season 2! After the huge success of KLEO, Netflix has now confirmed that the outrageous action-thriller will continue. "Must-see series" (Glamour), "So different - so good" (Vogue), "Sharp, fast, quirky and dirty" (Welt am Sonntag), "One of the best German series in recent years" (NDR N-Joy) - KLEO was the talk of the town this summer. Even US best-selling author Stephen King is a fan, writing on Twitter "What a breath of fresh air!".

Now the second season following former Stasi assassin Kleo Straub on her mission for revenge is officially confirmed. Of course, with Jella Haase in the lead role and Dimitrij Schaad starring again as her antagonist/partner-in-crime Sven Petzold. The HaRiBo team (Para - We are King, 4 Blocks) - Hanno Hackfort, Richard Kropf and Bob Konrad - will be at the helm as showrunners, while Michael Souvignier, Till Derenbach and Jörg Engels from Zeitsprung Pictures will be responsible for production. Filming is scheduled to begin in 2023.

Jella Haase and Dimitrij Schaad announce the second season of KLEO on Instagram.

About KLEO

1987: Top East-German spy Kleo kills a businessman in West Berlin while on a mission with a secret Stasi commando. Not long after, she's arrested by the Stasi on spurious claims and denounced by everyone she knows, even her own grandfather. After two years in jail, the Berlin Wall falls, and Kleo is suddenly free. She soon finds out that the conspiracy against her is much bigger than she could have imagined, and an ominous red suitcase seems to be the missing puzzle piece. Kleo sets off on a crusade for revenge, on a hunt that leads her through anarchistic Berlin, improvised electro clubs and Mallorcan Fincas, and finally into the Atacama Desert. All the while, she's followed by West-Berlin police officer Sven, who sees the case of his life unfolding before him.
