CHIEF OF WAR (Apple TV+) - Luciane Buchanan has been cast opposite Jason Momoa's in the limited series as Ka'ahumanu, "described as intelligent and progressive in thought. Ka'ahumanu is curious about the larger world beyond her home islands." (Variety.com)
GOLDBERGS, THE (ABC) - Isabella Gomez is slated to recur on the series as Carmen, "the new waitress at the 50s-themed diner where Adam (Sean Giambrone) is working at." (Deadline.com)
LA MÁQUINA (Hulu) - The Gael García Bernal/Diego Luna-led drama has cast Lucía Méndez as Josefina, "a woman from humble means but has pushed her way into upper class society; she smothers her son, Andy (Luna), constantly commenting on everything from his appearance to his business decisions"; Jorge Perugorría as Sixto, "an old school figure from the world of Cuban boxing, Sixto is Esteban's (Bernal) long-time trainer, serving as a father figure and mentor to both Andy and Esteban"; Karina Gidi as Carlota, "who was born into a wealthy Mexican family and is married to Andy"; Raul Briones as Juan Carlos, "a grizzled police officer who navigates both sides of the law"; and Luis Gnecco as Facundo, "an old-school journalist in a new-school world." LIONESS (Paramount+) - The upcoming spy drama has cast Sam Asghari as Kamal, "Ehsan's brother, who is an inveterate, unapologetic womanizer"; Carla Mansour as Malika, "one of Kamal's many ex's"; Adam Budron as Sami, "said to be part of a coterie of wealthy friends"; and Martin Donovan as Errol Meade, "Kaitlyn's husband, who is a smart financial wheeler dealer." MEEKAH (Netflix, New!) - The streamer has landed a "Blippi" universe spin-off series about Meekah, "a character played by Kaitlin Becker who was first introduced on the Blippi YouTube channel last year." STRAIGHT MAN (AMC) - Alvina August will recur on the upcoming Bob Odenkirk-led drama as June Washington-Chen, "an English professor who is temperate and careful. She is as savvy and individually minded as her husband, English professor Teddy Washington-Chen (Arthur Keng)." (Variety.com)
