DEAD SPACE (FOX, New!) - Ben Harris has sold a new drama to the network: "Grounded in the reality of the current space race, the series attempts to redefine the traditional police procedural as it explores the complex moral, political and real legal machinations after a murder is committed aboard the International Space Station." Mike Benson will also executive produce for Clapperboard and Aux Singuliers. (Deadline.com, 10/13)
HALLOWEEN (New!) - Miramax has scored the TV rights to the "Halloween" franchise from Trancas International Films in a 'wide-ranging deal with Trancas to develop and co-produce a Halloween TV series." (Deadline.com, 10/12)
JESUS CROWN OF THORNS (FOX Nation, New!) - Nutopia has landed a new docu-drama at the streaming service billed as "a re-telling of the life of Jesus that will 'shine a new light' on his life." Jane Root and Ben Goold are among the executive producers. (Deadline.com, 10/13)
JFK: COMING OF AGE IN THE AMERICAN CENTURY (Netflix, New!) - Eric Roth is spearheading a "The Crown"-esque limited series at the streamer inspired by Fredrik Logevall's planned two-volume biography of U.S. President John F. TIANA (Disney+) - Joyce Sherri has been tapped as the lead writer and director of the upcoming animated series, a followup to the 2009 animated film "The Princess and the Frog." She'll replace Stella Meghie, who remains on board as an executive producer alongside Jennifer Lee and producer Nathan Curtis. Anika Noni Rose will return to voice the title character. (Variety.com, 10/9)
UNTITLED KEN JEONG PROJECT (Syndication, New!) - Ken Jeong is taping a pilot in New York this week for a new talk show from Debmar-Mercury eyed for a 2024 launch. Jim Biederman is executive producing the project alongside Jeong. No other details were given. (Deadline.com, 10/13)
UNTITLED SUITS PROJECT (NBCUniversal, New!) - "Suits" creator Aaron Korsh is back in business with NBCUniversal for an offshoot of the much-ballyhooed series. David Bartis and Doug Liman are also likely to executive produce the project for UCP, which "is expected to be fast-tracked with a serious commitment." Adding, "the new legal procedural is not a spinoff either - it would be a Suits universe series in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location." No target network was specified. (Deadline.com, 10/12)
