Prime Video to Exclusively Premiere Original Young Romantic Comedy Drama, "My Undead Yokai Girlfriend" on March 22

Created by Yalun Tu and Zack Hines, and directed by Takahiro Miki, My Undead Yokai Girlfriend stars Hayato Sano as the protagonist and Ai Yoshikawa as the female lead in this quirky romantic comedy drama of a nerdy student, Hachi and a Yokai girl, Izzy

TOKYO - 13 February 2024 - Prime Video, today, announced the exclusive premiere of the Japanese Original drama series, My Undead Yokai Girlfriend, on March 22 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. My Undead Yokai Girlfriend is a unique collaboration of Japanese production and original script written by Yalun Tu and Zack Heins; the series will be directed by the acclaimed Takahiro Miki, popular for directing numerous live-action adaptations of original manga and teen-age love story novels. Starring in the series as the lead will be Hayato Sano playing Tadashi Inukai (Hachi) a university student and Ai Yoshikawa as Izzy, a beautiful Yokai girl, whom Hachi falls in love with. Shot in the traditional and beautiful city of Kyoto, My Undead Yokai Girlfriend depicts the extraordinary Japanese folklore of 'Yokai' and 'Otaku', as a strange relationship of love and mystery is sparked between a lonely college student Tadashi who wants nothing more than to find a girlfriend, and Izzy, a Yokai girl who accidentally finds herself bonded to him through a magical hex. But the quirky love story takes an unexpected and gripping twist as the true intention of Izzy is to exact revenge on a human family for an incident from over 500 years ago.
