FOX Nation to Present Surviving a Serial Killer With Harris Faulkner

New Special Now Available Details Lisa McVey's Abduction and Escape in 1984 from Infamous Serial Killer Bobby Joe Long

NEW YORK -- FOX Nation will debut Surviving a Serial Killer hosted by FOX News Channel's (FNC) Harris Faulkner today, Tuesday, April 30. The new three-part series details the 1984 abduction and escape of then 17-year-old Lisa McVey.

In commenting on the special, Faulkner said, "When a survivor talks, I listen. At just 17-years old, Lisa McVey endured unimaginable physical and mental torture at the hands of a serial killer. She has turned her horrific experience into a miraculous story of resilience and strength."

Featuring an extensive one-on-one with McVey herself, the series will include interviews with figures close to the story, such as Larry Pinkerton, the police lieutenant that worked with McVey and Lloyd Sowers, a journalist who covered the abduction at the time. Faulkner will share an inside look at how McVey, was raped and tortured for 26 harrowing hours, escaped and helped put a bloodthirsty killer, behind bars.

A victim of abuse throughout her childhood, McVey's story was met with disbelief after escaping her kidnapper, Bobby Joe Long. McVey left behind pieces of her hair and other items as a trail of evidence for police. Tampa, Florida police officers and investigators say they would not have caught Long, who was found to be a serial killer, including two murders after her kidnapping, without McVey's detailed memory and evidence. Now a motivational speaker and Tampa based Sheriff's Deputy, McVey has devoted her life to protecting other victims.

Six-time Emmy award-winning anchor and nationally best-selling author of the 2023 best seller "Faith Still Moves Mountains" and the 2018 "9 Rules of Engagement: A Military Brat's Guide to Life and Success," Faulkner joined FOX News Channel in 2005. She serves as the anchor of The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM-12PM/ET) and co-host of Outnumbered (weekdays, 12-1 PM/ET). Both programs outpace multiple broadcast and cable news programs in total viewers, including NBC's TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, ABC's GMA3, The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Talk, NBC News Daily and The Drew Barrymore Show. Throughout her tenure, Faulkner has conducted insightful interviews with major newsmakers, including then-President Donald Trump, Sen. John McCain as well as Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas.
