Netflix Confirms Production and Cast of 'As You Stood By' (WT)

The thrilling Korean series As You Stood By (WT) is officially in production, featuring Jeon So-nee, Lee You-mi, Jang Seung-Jo and Lee Mu-Saeng. The plot unfolds the unexpected events that arise when two women decide the only way to escape their living hell is by killing someone.

Directed by Lee Jeong-Lim (Revenant, VIP) and produced by Studio S, Ghost Studio, and Mizi Film, the series adapts Hideo Okuda's critically acclaimed novel "Naomi to Kanako," known for its intense, suspenseful depiction of characters battling violence in the author's signature tone.

The versatile Jeon So-nee (Soulmate, Our Blooming Youth, Parasyte: The Grey) plays the troubled young woman Eun-su, a VIP department store employee who is still haunted by her childhood trauma. Lee You-mi (Squid Game, All Of Us Are Dead, Strong Girl Nam-soon) brings depth to the character Hui-su, a once-aspiring children's book writer who has suffered a painful past similar to that of her friend, Eun-su. Along with Eun-su, Hui-su decides to kill her husband, who makes her life unbearable.

Jang Seung-Jo (Encounter, The Good Detective, Nothing Uncovered) takes on the role of Jin-pyo, Hui-su's menacing husband. Jin-pyo poses a significant threat to the two women, adding suspense and tension to the series. Lee Mu-Saeng (The Glory, Maestra: Strings of Truth, Noryang: Deadly Sea) portrays Chen Shaobo, the owner of the Jinkang Store. He becomes a powerful ally to Eun-su and Hui-su after discovering their plan.

With a story based on an intriguing original novel, a talented production crew, and an exceptional cast, the series is set to pose thought-provoking questions to those who have saved others from desperate times and those who have turned a blind eye to violence. As You Stood By (WT) will be available only on Netflix.
