Peyton Manning Exec Produced Veterans Day Special "The American Soldier" Premieres 11/11 on The HISTORY Channel
From Executive Producer Peyton Manning, "The American Soldier" traces the evolution of America's fighting men and women over the 250-year history of the nation. From the early settlers and the Revolutionary War against Britain, soldiers have played a key role in the seminal events that have shaped America. This two-hour special premiering on The HISTORY Channel on Monday, November 11 at 8/7c utilizes a blend of expert interviews and high-impact archive to tell the story of how a young independent nation plunges into the existential crisis of the Civil War in the 1860s, before coming of age in the World Wars of the 20th Century, and then finally emerging stronger from the complex conflicts of the Cold War and beyond.
"The American Soldier" includes expert commentary from Gen. Stan McCrystal, Col. USMC Ret. Doug Douds, historians Edward T. O'Donnell and Dr. H.W. Brands, activist and Professor of History at the University of St. Thomas Dr. Yohuru Williams and Pulitzer Prize-winning historians Dr. Marcia Chatelain and Annette Gordon-Reed to name a few.
