'1992' Releases on Netflix on December 13th

Netflix has announced today the release date and first images of 1992, the company's first miniseries by acclaimed director Álex de la Iglesia, and creator and screenwriter Jorge Guerricaechevarría, a two-time Goya Award winner (Cell 211, The Laws of the Border, Sister Death), which will premiere on Netflix on December 13.

The new thriller from the director of The Day of the Beast will revolve around a series of mysterious murders that follow the same pattern: all the victims have been burned, and next to each body, a Curro doll - the iconic mascot of Seville's Expo '92 - appears.

The miniseries, directed by Álex de la Iglesia, is a creation by him and Jorge Guerricaechevarría, based on a script by Pablo Tébar (Bandidos), and Jorge Valdano (Headless Chickens). It stars Fernando Valdivielso (Fanatic) and Marian Álvarez (The Wound, The Unit), with Paz Vega (Sex and Lucía) and Carlos Santos (The Man with a Thousand Faces) completing the cast, among others.

Filmed in Madrid and Seville, 1992 is a Pokeepsie Films production for Netflix.
